As you read in chapter 6, the reasons that families choose to adopt a child are varied. There are several factors to consider, but the allowed amount of involvement from birth parents is one that adoptive parents often struggle with.
Today, the majority of adoptions are open or semi-open by default, which means there is a degree of involvement and disclosure of information between adoptive and birth parents regarding the adopted child. Each type of adoption (open, semi-open, closed) comes with its own list of “pros and cons” to consider, so adoptive parents need to know what they are signing up for.
To address the prompt for this discussion read the following articles:

After reading the provided articles and your textbook, look at the debate below and choose the side that you agree with most:
Yes or No: All adoptions should be open adoptions.
Your first post must be a minimum of 250 words and address each of the following:
Which side of the debate do you agree with most?
An explanation of why you agree with that side
You must refer back to at least one of the assigned readings
Your second post is a response to one of your classmates’ posts and must be a minimum of 100 words. Be sure it follows these guidelines:
The post must be more than “Cool story bro!” “I get it, my cousin’s partner’s barber is the same way.”
You should agree or disagree with their post (respectfully) and explain why you feel that way.
Your third, and last, post is a reflection on the opposite side of the debate and must be a minimum of 100 words. Include the following:
Explain your understanding of what the opposite side of the debate is based on.
Why do you think people might choose this side of the debate?
You must refer back to at least one of the assigned readings

In the field of early childhood, students are required to be critical thinkers. Critical thinking is defined as “the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment”. In Chapters 1- 4, relevant content from the questions below was discussed. Your responses should display your depth of understanding of the topics, as well as informed judgment.
Respond to each of the questions below with a 7-10 sentence essay, fully explaining and justifying your stance on each issue. Use facts and knowledge from your text to defend your reasoning. NO CITATIONS ARE REQUIRED, as I’ve directed you to use your text.
Why understanding the process of development is important (Chapter 1)
Why theory is still applicable today (Chapter 2)
Why we should consider Nature through Nurture instead of Nature versus Nurture (Chapter 3)
The importance of prenatal development and associated health and risks in pregnancy (Chapter 4)
When answering a question, respond using the following criteria:
A minimum of 7 sentences for each question. To receive full credit, at least 10 thoughtful, well-organized sentences per question are required.
Each question has a separate paragraph
Reflective and insightful responses display a depth of knowledge

Hi there!
I hope to be more thorough in my needs this time. I hope you ask me questions, because in the past no helpers asked questions or showed me progress and I had to redo things several times. Please collaborate and help me along with this literature review portion of my paper.
GOALS:
1-My goals are to further prove a NEED for children of divorce suffering trauma and how they are not getting the help they need.
2-Narrow and prove the audience young school aged children. Young school age children are most at need as the timing of divorce affects this age group the most coupled with the fact that they are most susceptible to trauma since they are in key developmental years. There is substantial data showing that older children such as adolescents are showing improvement through educational. However, these programs are not accessible due to money or TIME. Parents are strapped for time as they figure out their new lives. I also found some great info how TEXAS comes in dead last when it comes to needs vs support for mental health according to mental health America…maybe find more on this since I am in Texas, it might narrow things for me and make the paper stronger?
3-Determine a solution rooted in evidence. My proposed idea is an educational based program utilizing technology such as an AI assistant in an app or web-based program that motivates kids to engage and learn (kids love tech). also, maybe discuss gamification of the app and how this coupled with connection to the parents can help provide the needed stability. (im reading an amazing book “the new childhood” by Jordan Shapiro. Check it out please.
4-How do kids LEARN? Tech and gamification?
Discuss companion animals and how this app hopes to harness that positive impact in a more accessible way, maybe a section on past electronic pets and how they have helped (a little) robo dogs, Moxie, Nintendo dog, Moxie, Tamagotchi, Tobi Ruxton, that paper clip assistant in microsoft word, Leo the new disneymovie and anything else you can come up with.
5-Maybe start to talk about design and branding that targets kids 5-8 What styles and colors? Text or fonts, etc. Why animals (In the app the ideas is to allow the kids to design their guide.
6-Help me come with a better title, name, catch phrase???
Enclosed are:
1-full thesis template MLA8 8 formatting.
2-my first thesis proposal that was rejected because it hit too much on the solution
3-my recent thesis proposal that is almost accepted, still awaiting feedback
4-1 full thesis example from my program. (we are mostly focused on the lit review right now) but any applicable info that you find, please add, I can build and tweak as the semester progresses.
5-my literature review outline full of amazing sources. Please use this, but don’t focus soooo heavy on divorce in the beginning, shift to the affects on the audience and demonstrate how they are in need. Any additional sources must be peer-reviewed and less than 10 years old.
Please consider:
=To better understand what this will need to look like please review the thesis example on the type styln project about using graffiti to help attract more diverse students into visual communications programs.
-I am the only one working on this and it is not a team of researchers. We are not IRB certified and cannot do surveys or interviews and just have to review literature and evidence and base our findings on such.
-I am not a licensed therapist and can’t get too into “therapies.” I can not speak from a practitioner perspective or use to much psychological jargon.
-this paper/exhibition is for a graphic design or VISUAL COMMUNICATION program
-I will not actually be building the app/platform only designing it to a showcase my skills kinda like a prototype.
-I am looking to support an area of need, not solve a major world problem.
-I am looking to connect successful existing programs in different areas in ways not previously connected. Like the example…curriculum that targets black and brown students to be more interested in graphic design by developing a curriculum.

A review of the scholarly literature will uncover a prevalence of risky sexual behaviors and a high rate of sexually transmitted infections in individuals over 60 years of age. For this assignment, it is your responsibility to investigate the phenomenon of increased sexually transmitted infections, and you must provide at least 3 well-researched reasons why the elderly are at an increased risk of contracting an STI compared to their younger counterparts. And finally, provide at least 2 solutions to quell this problem.

For this Check-Up, you are acting as a counselor. You will find in your career that often you will need to provide more than medical advice. Sometimes you have to provide emotional support as well. In this case, you need to counsel your patient about what he suspects he is experiencing.
Henok is a 55-year-old male. He was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but has lived in the American South for the last 30 years. He has had a successful life as an industrial engineer and has made a very lucrative living. Henok got married when he was 45 years old and had twin boys when he was 47. He loves his wife and twin boys, but he is starting to feel restless and anxious and isn’t sure why. He signed up for a skydiving trip with his friends two weeks ago and loved it. Now he wants to buy a motorcycle. He has come to you because he is experiencing chest pains. His EKG is normal, and all his bloodwork is normal. Everything points to him being physically healthy.
You ask a few questions and find out the following information:
He hasn’t been sleeping well.
He thinks he is a failure.
He recently had his black hair bleached blonde.
He bought a beach house and hasn’t told his wife yet.
He got the phone number of a female coworker to meet for drinks, but he felt guilty and threw it in the trashcan right away.
He has found himself missing his late father.
Your job:
Tell Henok what you think is going on. (1-2 paragraphs)
Tell Henok how you think he can best overcome these feelings. (2-4 paragraphs)
Make a referral for Henok. (1 paragraph)
Provide some encouragement for Henok. (this is your conclusion)
How did you reach these conclusions? What research helped you arrive at the decisions that you did?
