Instructions
Here you will post your proposal and annotated bibliography for the long range- research paper. The assignment should incorporate three parts: a working thesis statement, a 1-2 paragraph research proposal, and a list of annotated sources intended to be used in the research paper. Format all three pieces in a document that adheres to the academic style you have chosen for the project, either APA or MLA. The working thesis statement should be featured prominently upfront, where the title of a finished research paper would be.
Working thesis statement: This one or two sentence statement should include not only your topic but your stance as well. Offer a clearly focused argument or call to action. Approximately three supporting points should also be included in the first or second sentence, reasons your main argument is true. Both your position and supporting ideas can be changed later to more accurately reflect the research and your findings at the end of the research process, but it is important to have your research guided by a stated hypothesis at this early stage.
Research Proposal: The research proposal is a preliminary assignment that shows you have started to think about your topic and have conducted enough quality research to show it is viable. It should include the following information in a brief paragraph or two:1. An introductory paragraph describing in broad terms the proposed purpose, organization, content, and potential conclusion(s) of the paper you will write.  Answers these questions on the basis of your initial ideas and any preliminary research:
a.      What academic field are you writing in? What style will you adhere to?
b.      What is your topic and why is it worthy of discussion? What is the controversy?
c.      What background information does your audience require to understand the topic?
2. A list of two or more research questions that you intend your research to answer.
Writing the proposal will allow you to think through the various research and writing options available to you. Of course, your research is still incomplete when you write your proposal. It does not need to summarize all of your ideas in detail, but you can broadly sketch your argument. This should help you determine what information you need to gather for the research project.Annotated Bibliography: A bibliography is a list of sources, and annotations are notes, so an annotated bibliography is a list of sources with accompanying notes. Per the research paper assignment, you will need at least five sources for this assignment to show that you are consulting a range of sources. These should be reliable sources, and listed in MLA or APA Style. In addition, each citation will include an annotation, a note that evaluates and summarizes each source, and details how the source will be used in your paper, or not used, and why. Here is some help, but note that the example is missing the connection between the source and the paper.
This assignment is done in preparation for your long-range research project (Paper 4), although some of the sources acquired for charting a trend may be relevant from the APA-style research paper (Paper 2). If you complete this assignment carefully, you may save yourself extra work, trips to the library, and aggravation on the larger project. It should also help you to confirm that you have selected high quality sources to use in your research essay.
In this assignment, you will create an annotated bibliography that includes brief summaries of five of the sources that you plan to use in your research project. In addition to summarizing, you will evaluate each source to prove its viability. Review Chapter 53 in Rules for Writers for tips on evaluating information and writing an Annotated Bibliography; consult Chapter 58 for models of MLA style citations or Chapter 63 for APA style citations. Cite the sources in your annotated bibliography using the style guideline you plan to use for your long-range research paper.  There is also a model Annotated Bibliography available for review on the course’s Blackboard site1.            For each source, write the Works Cited-style entry in MLA format or APA-style References
2.            Put these sources in alphabetical order, using the author’s last name (or title if there is no author). Do not number the list. It should resemble a Works Cited/References page, except with brief paragraphs directly following each citation.
3.            After each entry, write an annotation that contains both a brief summary of the information you’ll use from the source and an evaluation of the source. When you evaluate each source, discuss each of the following criteria:
·         relevance
·         currency
·         credibility
·         objectivity, and
·         quality of evidence.
4.            Each annotation should be a paragraph or (at most) two. When you are finished, edit carefully to find and correct grammatical and stylistic errors. Evaluation of your Annotated Bibliography will be based on both content and format
* Please don’t forget to include your working Thesis Core–presented at the top of your first page. I want to know what you intend to prove – and give you some feedback on the argument before proceeding…

One part of research is to assess your sources for diverse perspectives, which helps to create a robust argument. In this discussion, you will discuss how two of your sources help you understand your topic by portraying diverse perspectives.
Discussing challenges that face our world often means investigating opinions and ideas different from your own. Remember to remain thoughtful and respectful toward your peers and instructor in your initial and response discussion posts.
Create one initial post
For your initial post, address the following:
Share links to two sources from the Shapiro Library that you have found through your independent research.
Describe how these two sources support your topic.
What different perspectives are represented in these two sources? What voices are present in these sources and how do the present voices differ? For example, if you are writing on a four-day work week, an economist, an employee, an employer, and a customer/client might all have different perspectives on this topic because a shortened work week impacts each of them in different ways.
Do the voices and perspectives represented in these sources give a full or fair picture of whom the topic touches? If not, what perspectives do you need to consider as you continue your research?
My topic is “Stimulus Checks”
My research question is “Did the distribution of stimulus checks significantly contribute to the recent increase in inflation in the united states?”
I am using APA citation style
Here are the links to the 2 supporting articles that I chose:
Two sources from the Shapiro Library that I found through research:

Using technology-based resources within the English language arts classroom supports real-world applications and helps to inspire teachers in their lesson planning and instructional practices. Continually exploring technology resources that can be utilized within the classroom demonstrates a teaching best practice.
Allocate at least 4 hours in the field to support this field experience.
Observe an English language arts lesson taught by a certified K-8 teacher that integrates educational technology to enhance instruction. During the observation, take note of how technology was used and its effectiveness.
Following your observation, collaborate with your mentor teacher to discuss the integration of technology in the ELA classroom. Specifically discuss with your mentor teacher his or her practices related to ensuring the safe, legal, and ethical use of technology in the classroom.
Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.
In 500-750 words, reflect on your observation and discussion by addressing the following:
During the lesson you observed, what technology resources did your mentor teacher use?
Describe the ways in which the observed technology positively or negatively contributed to instruction and engagement.
What specific additional technology could have been used within the lesson and how would you have used them?
How does your mentor teacher ensure the safe, legal, and ethical use of technology and information accessed from the technological resources?
Explain how you will use your findings related to the use of technology in ELA instruction in your future professional practice.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.
Document the locations and hours you spend in the field on your Clinical Field Experience Verification Form.

please let me know if this link works!!! ill use another link.
Also this is a note my Professor left me “Don’t waste any time or space introducing your paper with anything about
the making of this film, about who’s in the film or who made the film. This is totally
unnecessary as I know all of this already!
What I don’t know and what I’m interested in knowing are your observations and your
understanding of how the film components are used to tell the film story.
I suggest starting your papers by simply telling me which two components you’ve chosen
to discuss, and then get to it. And always cite specific examples from the film to support
your discussions.”

For this descriptive essay you are going to be slowing down even more. By the time readers are finished with your descriptive essay, they should be able to clearly visualize in their mind’s eye what you are describing. Like the narrative essay, your choice of topic for the descriptive essay is completely up to you. You can choose to describe almost anything: a person, a place, or an object. Most students tend to describe someone whom they are close to, like a grandparent, child, or pet. I’ve also seen essays about cars, military weapons, and fashion. But really, the choice is limitless.
This descriptive essay should be written using the traditional “college essay format.” That is, your essay must have an introduction with a thesis statement, a number of discrete paragraphs in the body, and a conclusion. For the descriptive essay, this format is relatively easy to follow. The introduction will contain the identification of the subject you are describing and its importance to you; each paragraph in the body will describe one individual aspect of the subject you have chosen; and in the conclusion, you will restate the subject’s importance and sum everything up.

For this paper, you are going to be closely analyzing one passage from Alexander

For this paper, you are going to be closely analyzing one passage from Alexander’s article for your whole short paper. Thus, you want to choose a passage that gives you plenty to write about, but also is focused enough for you to thoroughly analyze in just 2-3 pages. I recommend selecting one paragraph to focus on. When you are deciding which paragraph to choose, look for the things that make it “juicy,” meaning that there is lots to analyze.
