Overview
Different forms of revenue and expenditure types are common in K-12 and institutions of higher education funding. With budget shortfalls becoming routine, it can be challenging to strike the right financial balance in schools and institutions of higher education. In this activity, you will research a local K-12 or community college financial budget, locating the primary funding sources. Then you will propose recommended changes to the budget.
Instructions
Write a 1-2 page paper in which you:
Examine a local school district or community college budget.
Become familiar with your local school district or community college budget process by searching their respective website for budget information.
If you are unable to locate this information, contact your local school district or community college for budget information.
Determine where the funding originates from. What percentage is from federal, state, or local taxes?
Recommend changes to your K-12 school or institution of higher education’s revenue stream to strengthen its financial position.
Explain the changes you would propose.
You should list any budget documents referenced as your source for this activity. Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing, and citation, access the library or review library guides.

For your Week 5 Assignment 1, you write and implement a math lesson with a focus

For your Week 5 Assignment 1, you write and implement a math lesson with a focus on representing and interpreting data. Your lesson plan must include modifications and accommodations based on the backgrounds, strengths, and disabilities of your students. Examples include making bar graphs of favorite foods or creating a line plot to show the dates on a collection of coins. Collaborate with your host teacher to discuss the following: What do the children know about representing and interpreting data? What do you want the children to learn? What standards are you using? Review the diversity in the class such as cultural, socioeconomic background, strengths, and disabilities that may contribute to or impede learning. Your lesson plan must include modifications and accommodations based on the needs of your students. ———————- Plan and write the lesson plan completing all sections of the “Lesson Plan Template.” Implement the lesson in your field experience classroom. After teaching the lesson, collaborate with your host teacher to discuss observations or insights gained from writing and teaching the lesson. Complete the reflection section of the “Lesson Plan Template” based on the feedback from your host teacher as well as your own thoughts from carrying out this assignment.

Review the section “Connecting Content and Learners” found on page 53 in Van de Walle (2017a). Reflect on the instruction and learning that you have observed in your field experience classroom. For your Discussion, you provide specific examples of accommodations that have been made for students Part1 Share an example of a whole group instructional math task that has been used in your field experience classroom. Based on their learning needs and prior knowledge, provide specific examples of accommodations that have been made for this task for each of the four elements for ELL students, gifted students, and students with learning disabilities. —————- These elements are: *Content: The level of complexity *Process: How students engage in learning *Product: How students demonstrate what they know *Learning environment: The physical space, configuration, and tone of the room Also include a brief discussion of modifications or accommodations that could be made if these populations were completing this math task in an online environment. If your field experience classroom does not have gifted students, students with learning disabilities, and culturally and linguistically diverse students, share examples of accommodations that you would make for these students. —————————————————————- Part2 Identify an area of content (earth and space, physical and life sciences, or health and physical education) that is challenging, confusing, or a concept that you would need to learn more about to teach effectively. Meet (individually) with your host teacher and one other educator in the school. Share what you know and understand as well as what seems to be confusing. Ask them to provide information, ideas, and suggestions on the topic. Complete the PD template. ———- *Describe how you consider yourself a lifelong learner as an educator. *State the topic you chose that was challenging or confusing, and identify the person you choose and why. *Then, share what you learned from collaborating with your host teacher and other experts in the school. *Share ideas on how you will continue to learn and develop as a science educator. Provide at least two examples for each of the following: 1) professional organization websites, 2) sources of support (for example, *District classes, resources available through the District, etc.), and 3) research for PD (potential future opportunities). Attach the PD template you completed.
