Due tonight at 9pm
In collaboration with your mentor teacher, identify an upcoming reading lesson the mentor is planning to teach. Identify vocabulary in the text selected that could be pre-taught. Using the “Vocabulary Planning Chart ” template, discuss the words with your mentor and develop possible strategies for pre-teaching them in a grade-appropriate manner.
Observe your mentor teacher implementing the lesson and the vocabulary instruction you discussed. (If you and your mentor agree, you may teach the lesson as part of your field experience.) Following the implementation, review the lesson and implementation with your mentor, including both the effectiveness of the instruction and what revision might be appropriate.
Below the “Vocabulary Planning Chart,” write a 250-500 word reflection that includes the following:
Summarize the lesson and how it was implemented.
Discuss the planning process.
Explain how vocabulary instruction promoted reading comprehension.
Describe challenges encountered in planning or implementation and how they were addressed or could be in the future.
Discuss insights from your mentor teacher and how you will apply them to future professional practice.

Phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics are important component

Phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics are important components of the study of language known as linguistics. Teachers must understand the linguistic demands placed on young students as they learn to read and write. Early childhood educators must be able to identify typical and atypical linguistic development and be equipped to support all learners in the inclusive early childhood classroom.
discuss the following:
Define and provide examples of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics and explain how each of these linguistic components applies to literacy development.
Explain why it is important to understand these components of linguistics in supporting students with exceptionalities.
Describe 2-3 developmentally appropriate research-based instructional strategies to support the language and literacy development of early childhood students who struggle with linguistic components.
Include a brief outline of your presentation.

Discussion Question 1: After reading the chapter dealing with socialism from 1988, do you believe the information is compelling because it would provide American students with an alternative view of socialism? Furthermore, what of the more compelling arguments/points made in the reading grabbed your attention?
Discussion Question 2: What stands out after reading the article Using Classroom Recordings in Educational History Research: An East German Civics Lesson and examining the transcribed class discussion (at the end)? Is this line of discussion foreign from a typical civics lesson found at your school? Please explain.

6 Assignment: Planning Adjustments in the Instructional Environment
Consider the following two scenarios and respond to the questions:
Verna is a student with a learning disability in Ms. Chang’s fourth-grade class. Ms. Chang uses whole-group instruction in math. This method is sometimes hard for Verna, who is behind her peers in math. Verna is slow to remember math facts, has trouble keeping numbers straight in columns, and sometimes forgets a step or two when she is computing a problem that requires several steps.
Mr. Howard teaches U.S. history. About half of the students in his fourth-hour class struggle in reading; four students receive special education services for learning disabilities. Mr. Howard has been assigned a special education teacher, Ms. Riley, to co-teach the class with him. Mr. Howard and Ms. Riley think the class can benefit from learning the following textbook-reading strategy (Bartelt, Marchio, & Reynolds, 1994):
R Review headings and subheadings.
E Examine boldface words.
A Ask “What do I expect to learn?”
D Do it: Read!
S Summarize in your own words.
Questions:
1. Identify the demands in Ms. Chang’s class that are likely to be challenging for Verna.
2. Describe how Ms. Chang can use the steps in the INCLUDE strategy to help Verna succeed in the large group.
3. Can Mr. Howard and Ms. Riley use the approaches for co-teaching you learned about in Chapter 3 to teach the reading strategy and still cover the history content required by the state? Explain.
4. How can they use scaffolding to teach the READS strategy?

A student notifies you that she has been subjected to bullying through a classmate’s Facebook page.
In 500-750 words address the following:
Provide the steps you are required to take that are consistent with state statutes, your district’s school board policies, faculty handbook, and the student handbook;
Any First Amendment arguments you think the student with the Facebook page may raise; and
Responses you could make to the First Amendment arguments that are consistent with the cases in the assigned readings.

 Creative Women in Contemporary Culture
For this week’s forum question, review the article “Taking the Measure of Sexism: Facts, Figures, and Fixes,” on the Required Resources page for the course. Next, explore the National Museum of Women in the Arts linked hereLinks to an external site..
If you navigate to “Explore” on the National Museum of Women in the Arts site, you will find artist profiles of contemporary women artists, but do not limit yourself to that section. The museum supports photographers, film directors, videographers, writers, and musicians as well as visual artists, so also navigate “learn” and “advocate” sections of the website to learn more about diverse women creating culture today.
After reviewing these resources, identify one contemporary (still living) creative woman with whom you were previously unfamiliar and discuss her contributions to contemporary culture. In your discussion, compare her visibility with creative women from other eras, such as the Renaissance, Victorian, or even the modern period. How do women continue to face challenges with visibility or representation according to your resources this week?

Select a published study in a behavior analytic journal that uses a  multiple baseline design and evaluate its adherence to the requirements for making comparisons across baselines. Be sure to reference the article in APA format.
In your post, include the following:
Identify the experimental question and purpose of the study. (5 points)
Identify the exact design utilized (e.g., non-concurrent multiple baseline) (5 points)
Evaluate the visual display of data and describe the (2 points each):

Level
Trend
Variability
Latency to change

Summarize if the study demonstrated control and evidence to support your decision (2 points).
In your response to a peer, identify which type of experimental question was utilized in their study. A (5) point response cost for failure to complete this task.
