Taking the time to research examples of published professional development can provide insight into how effective professional development is presented.
Select a 15-30 minute video presentation (e.g., YouTube, Lynda.com, ASCD webinar) related to your professional development in your organizational context. Examples include any topics you selected for your Needs Assessment Survey.
After viewing the video, write a 250-500 word evaluation of the content and presentation.
Evaluate the following:
The overall effectiveness of the session (e.g., relevance, creativity, presentation, organization)
The overall engagement of the session
The applicability of the resources and strategies demonstrated in the session
In addition, include any strategies you viewed that you would like to include in your presentation as well as anything you might change about the presentation in order to use it in your context.
APA format is required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines

Explain what sustainability means to you.

Consider giving examples of your personal experiences. If you do not feel comfortable sharing your personal experiences, you may use different examples that resonate with you. For instance, you may use media or news examples that reflect what sustainability means to you.

Describe how considering sustainability affects your daily life.

For example, if you think about sustainability when making decisions about transportation, you may decide to use public transportation instead of driving a vehicle with no passengers. This could save you money on gas, but it might pose other issues related to convenience or time management.
Describe decisions you could consider making about a sustainability issue like the above example, along with the positive and negative impacts of the decisions on your daily life.

Describe how your daily actions and behaviors can impact the environment.

For instance, if you choose to use public transportation as in the example above, your daily commute could support sustainability by reducing carbon emissions that harm the environment.
Describe how your daily actions and behaviors related to the decisions you described above (or other decisions) can help or harm the environment.

JIGSAW STRATEGY (ONLY NEED ONE)
Objectives:
To become familiar with resources available to support content learning
To recognize & select high standard criteria for selecting strategies to support content learning
Rationale:
Students are naturally motivated by the implementation of effective learning strategies. Teachers who wish to increase learning research, select, and reflect about the strategies they choose to support their content curriculum.
Instructions:
Create your strategy file in Microsoft Word. Follow the formatting rules of APA style.
This file will be a resource for you in the classroom. Include strategies that will help you teach many lessons, not just one. For example, the vocabulary cards strategy can be used in multiple content areas, can meet the needs of students with varied learning styles, and can serve as a form of assessment. Similarly, Cornell Notes are applicable across the curriculum and increase the rigor and higher order thinking level of note taking.
Be sure to look for strategies with great flexibility and usefulness and that can be used multiple times with different content applications. Proven strategies work best when students know how they work and focus on the learning rather than the “rules” for the strategy.
Part 1. Strategy Criteria: Resources for Website Criteria are listed below these directions on Moodle. You are not limited to these resources. Feel free to research and select strategies that you know about or that you find in your subject area. The strategies you select for your bibliography will be rated based on their appropriateness and support for your grade level and content subject area. Select strategies that you are learning about or researching this summer.
Part 2. Annotated Bibliographies: The annotated bibliography is a collection of researched sources that support your topic –in this case, the topic is strategies for your teaching this coming school year. You will be expected to use the strategies you include in this work, so be sure you understand each of them completely. Reflective reports of their implementations will be part of your seminar expectations.
