Data Analysis
For this assignment, you share the results of your study. Describe what your analysis of the data has revealed. Discuss how your findings can be used to make improvements in the field or as the basis for further research. In addition, restate what you originally expected your research to reveal (part of Week 2 Project) and explain what you actually found was in line with your expectations or not.
Your participation with your classmates will serve an important purpose of this week. You will provide reactions and follow-up questions based on your classmates’ findings. In turn, the feedback that you receive from your classmates will help you prepare the written assignment. This feedback will help you focus on the areas of your study that are of most interest to others.

Read Exhibit 7.1, page 222 in the textbook. Additionally, conduct independent research on Mark Hamm’s collection of data on the American skinhead culture (see Topic Materials) . Create an analysis of 750-1,000 words regarding Hamm’s study. Make sure to include a 150 word abstract in the beginning.  Address the following:
Explain how Mark Hamm collected data on American skinheads in 1989. What was unexpected in his attempts to collect data on this group?
How did Hamm attempt to use the Internet to further his data collection, and why might this effort have yielded better results today?
Were Hamm’s data collection techniques ethical and objective? Explain.

As a human services professional working with individuals experiencing behavi

As a human services professional working with individuals experiencing behavioral health issues, it is easy to get caught up in the review of symptoms of a diagnosis; however, it is important for you to be able to integrate theoretical perspectives and research when addressing psychopathology issues with justice-involved individuals.
You will use a theoretical lens to analyze an individual’s diagnoses.
Scenario 1
Crystal is a 48-year-old woman from a large city. She lives in a resource-constrained area with marked levels of continuous gang violence and inadequate social services, such as insufficient policing. At the time of treatment, she is married with two school-age children. Crystal was referred for treatment after witnessing a gang-related killing of a 23-year-old male in front of her house. Crystal reported that she knew the young man who was shot, as he lived in the same neighborhood as Crystal. Since the event, Crystal has been feeling scared and does not want to leave her house. She has also felt anger and shame for not having the courage to prevent the shooting. She avoided talking about the event and could not walk past or look at the location of the killing, which was near her front gate. She has had trouble concentrating and sleeping, so she took an over-the-counter sleep aid to help her fall asleep at night. In addition, Crystal described that she struggled to understand why people could be so cruel to each other and reported distress related to her marriage. On assessment, Crystal reported only verbal and emotional abuse, but it later became apparent that she had also experienced physical abuse in her marriage. Crystal is also going through an intake after being arrested for drug possession.

Assume you are a human services professional working at a psychological treatment center in a local correctional facility.
Your team meets weekly to review the clients and share perspectives to ensure appropriate care is being given. Since this will be your first meeting, your supervisor has asked you to prepare a summary of the client in the selected case, including theoretical perspectives and research regarding the client’s disorder. You will share this summary with your teammates in the meeting.
Research the diagnoses for your selected case study to determine common behavioral symptoms associated with each.
Research theoretical perspectives that may explain the diagnosis and symptomology.
700 word of the symptomology presented by the client in which you:
Explain the behavioral symptoms presented by the client.
Explain how the behavioral symptoms exhibited by the client are either typical or atypical with the provided diagnosis, based on your research.
Describe the client’s diagnosis through the lens of 2 theoretical perspectives. Include details to explain how the theoretical perspectives provide a deeper understanding of the behavioral symptoms and possible causes.
If necessary details are missing from the case study, fill in the gaps with information for your research.
 Cite 2 peer-reviewed journal articles.
Format APA guidelines.

The use of criminological theories can be positive. If law enforcement officers

The use of criminological theories can be positive. If law enforcement officers understand the theories and can pick out which theory works for each situation, they can get the best possible outcome.
I think an issue with using criminological theories is that utilizing just one or two of the theories can limit the understanding law enforcement has. But if they use too many then their ideas may contradict each other.
The problem with generalizing and stereotyping in criminal justice is it can cause issues of making false assumptions and wasting time and resources. It can cause innocent people to be targeted and guilty people to be passed up.
In your response to two of your peers, identify one benefit or limitation they may not have considered and explain why you think that might be an important consideration, and, if possible, identify one negative consequence of generalizing or stereotyping they identified that you did not consider. Remember always to be respectful when replying to peers, even if you do not agree with their responses. In 2-3 sentences.

Hello,
The benefits of understanding criminal theories is helping one gain the understanding of crimes and the criminal justice system.
The  limitations of applying theories is that all behaviors cannot be explained by existing theories.  (IPL.org., 2015).
When stereotyping criminal behaviors you can possibly overlook the true cause of someone’s actions.
This is the easiest way to explain it, you cannot say that one certain thing has caused the problems, and you cannot say that someone’s actions is what caused someone else to do wrong.  It is not true that someone acts like someone else for the same reason.  Each person is different.
Thanks

n Vernonia School District v. Acton (1995), the Court has upheld random drug testing of high school student-athletes. In Board of Education of Independent School District No. 92 of Pottawatomie County et al. v. Earls (2002), the Court extended that ruling to middle and high school students participating in any extracurricular activity. Discuss the reasoning that the testing is a minimal intrusion? Are the interests of the government in this situation important enough to override individual privacy protection? Should this ruling apply to college students as well? Why or why not?
In Warshak v. United States (2007), the Court compared the importance of Fourth Amendment protections to e-mail communications as similar to that of telephone conversations. Do you agree with the ruling? Discuss the three situations in which the Court allowed for the seizure of e-mails by the government.
