How is Choice Theory applicable to cyber-crimes?
As you begin to answer the question, note the following theoretical dynamics ( APA sections) :
Consider the assumptions of other crime causation theories.
Can other theories also be applied to cyber-crime interpretations?
Why is it important to utilize crime causation theories to interpret cyber-crimes?
Is there a particular theory for cyber-crimes?

Why or why not?

Students are expected to critically analyze, evaluate, and report on a cybercrime or cybersecurity topic listed in the Tentative Schedule. The report will be broken down into three different parts referred to as mini-papers (60 points each) 180 total points and will be checked by Turnitin, the plagiarism detection services.  The report must be double-spaced, with 1.0-inch margins, using Times New Roman 12 point type and at least two pages long ( a minimum of 1200 words) to properly answer the question. Of the total works cited ( that is at least three References)  one should be from academic journals or books published by an academic press.  The references should be identified  in APA format and located at the end of each mini paper.

As you have learned in this course, there are numerous criminological theories that attempt to explain the causes of criminal behavior. Despite disagreement among the different theories regarding the causes of this behavior, research data gathered in support of each theory can be very useful to criminal justice professionals. In this discussion, you will explore the importance of knowing and applying criminological theory.
Answer the following questions in your initial post:
What are the benefits of understanding criminological theories?
What are possible limitations of applying theories?
What are potential negative consequences of generalizing or stereotyping in regard to criminal behavior?
In your response to two of your peers, identify one benefit or limitation they may not have considered and explain why you think that might be an important consideration, and, if possible, identify one negative consequence of generalizing or stereotyping they identified that you did not consider. Remember always to be respectful when replying to peers, even if you do not agree with their responses.

Overview
In this assignment, you will reflect on ways that criminal justice professionals make practical use of criminological theories.
Prompt
You have learned about numerous criminological theories and how each attempts to explain why people commit crimes. How do those theories help prevent or reduce crime in real and practical ways? For this 350- to 500-word journal activity, do the following:
Choose a theory that criminal justice professionals use in one of the branches of the criminal justice system (law enforcement, courts, or corrections).
Describe a real-life example of how this theory is being utilized in law enforcement, courts, or corrections. Consider the following and address the relevant questions for the criminal justice branch you selected (not all questions below pertain to all branches):

Is there a program or policy in place that improves police-community relations?
Is there a program or policy in place that aims to reduce delinquency?
Has a law or policy been created in response to this theory that aims to reduce incarceration?
Does this theory influence approaches to sentencing?
Does this theory influence correctional procedures?

Assess the effectiveness of the example you provided in terms of preventing or reducing crime. Use data or evidence from your resources to support your response.
Specifically, the following rubric criteria must be addressed:
Identify a criminological theory that criminal justice professionals use in one of the branches of the criminal justice system (law enforcement, courts, or corrections).
Describe a real-life example of how this theory is being utilized in that branch. Assess the effectiveness of the example you provided in preventing or reducing crime.
What to Submit
This assignment must be 350 to 500 words in length. Any references must be cited in APA style. Consult the Shapiro Library APA Style Guidefor more information on citations.
Note: For journal assignments, you can receive a Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident score on each of your rubric criteria. There is no Exemplary score for this assignment, because you will receive feedback and make revisions to improve beyond proficiency in these concepts.

Evaluating Monitoring Programs
Discussion Part I
While designing a monitoring plan for your program or policy, if you discovered that different techniques for monitoring the implementation of the program or policy produced conflicting results, how would you reach an effective monitoring plan?
Consider that the observation data monitoring technique suggests that, on average, staff members spend 1 hour per week on teaching life-skills to clients as the program intended, but the service record data monitoring technique suggests that staff spends 15 minutes on average teaching life-skills to clients, against the program’s intentions. What do you think could account for the discrepancy between different monitoring techniques?
Discussion Part II
Among the different observational data collection techniques—narrative, data, and structured rating scheme, which technique do you consider to be the strongest approach? Which technique do you think is the weakest? Explain your rationale.
Is it advisable to combine two or more observational data collection techniques? Are there any advantages to combining techniques? Are there any disadvantages to combining techniques? Discuss.

Identifying the Variables and Issues
For this assignment, provide a description of the problem statement and research question or hypothesis for your project.
On the basis of your project:
Identify the variables that you plan to test.
Specify one specific independent variable and one dependent variable, if your project is a hypothesis-testing project. Identify the hypothesis and variables that the program has been built around if you are evaluating a program or a policy.
For example, if you evaluate your local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, you could say that the program is built upon the hypothesis that positive role model mentoring has a positive impact on children from broken homes. The independent variable will be the presence of a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor, and the dependent variable will be the effect that the program has had on the child.
