My Study Plan on Achieving College Goals

Language Study Plan

Study plans to improve foreign languages(Korean, English, etc) required for taking a degree course BEFORE and AFTER you come to Korea.

Before going to Korea, I do my best to learn the Korean language on my own. And the best way to do that is by using online sources like the lessons and materials on the sejonghakdang.org website which is very useful for learning Hangeul and Korean culture. Watching videos on YouTube is also beneficial for learning the basics of the language and knowing how to write and build words and sentences in Korean. As soon as I understand the basics, reading elementary books, articles and magazines will surely develop my reading skills. Listening to podcasts is also great for my listening. Additionally, interacting with native Korean speakers through social media will have a great influence on me to develop my Korean language and to know more about their respective cultures. By doing all the things mentioned above I have already worked on my English language too, as they are all in English. I will not have difficulties learning and communicating in English.

After going to Korea, I organize myself according to motivation, immersion, discipline, note-taking, and moderation, which is the best way of learning a new language for me.

Motivation. Motivation is the key factor in getting yourself involved in the learning process and in keeping yourself engaged at your level of academic performance. Falling in love with the language you are learning and the culture that speaks it, is the most important thing you can do to ensure long-term motivation and enjoy the whole learning process. For me, the Korean language and culture is amazing. More and more people around the world are learning Korean. It is growing and that is wonderful. Korea, to me, is a country full of surprises in ways that make me appreciate the differences between every culture. Even though there are many cultural interactions and settings in other countries that differ from the lifestyle and culture I have here in Afghanistan, Korea has always been a culture and language that stood out to me. Just by being able to see the old Korean lifestyle come to life on-screen, it gives me a sense of love for the culture. I always get to appreciate the beauty of traditional clothing, like Hanboks. In addition, the Korean language is one of the most spoken languages and is considered to have the most logical system of writing in the world. With all these, I have already fallen in love with the Korean language and culture. And it will surely increase when I reach Korea.

Immersion. Immersion is a fantastic way to learn a language because it allows me to experience almost all aspects of life in the language I am learning. By immersing myself in Korea, I will find myself hearing Korean sounds. I will hear the giggles of schoolchildren on their way to classes, the chatter of Korean TV in the background, and K-pop blasting everywhere I turn. And this happens 247 without letting up. This way I am forced to learn the language and it works, because that is how I learned my first language.

Discipline. Being disciplined is very important when learning a new language. One of the basic benefits of being disciplined is having a stress-free language program. By disciplining and time management, I can learn to apportion every single day to various activities and equally work on my reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Maintaining a daily routine and following it properly, will help me learn the lessons in the best way. By keeping organized, I will save my time and will have more time to work on my important tasks. It also increases my productivity and helps me stick to my daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I also plan to practice the language with a partner and make the language learning an emotional process that can help me remember and apply what I have learned, this way, I work on my listening and speaking skills.

Note-taking. By keeping a notepad with me whenever I go anywhere and taking notes of new words, phrases and sentences that I hear instantly from people or a friend and reviewing them properly, I plan to work on my vocabulary building and writing skills. Additionally, I will have a dictionary with me all the time and use it as a reference to understand the meaning of the words and expressions that I face to for the first time.

Moderation. Moderation is an important part of studying. My purpose of moderation is to make sure I avoid study overload in order to keep myself strong enough until I achieve my goal. Countless hours of study are not only miserable but can also become unproductive, especially if you are studying for hours straight. I will make sure to have enough sleep during the night and to take healthy short breaks during my studies which can actually improve my ability to remember information and stay focused.

Last but not least, being realistic is very important. The journey is not a walk in the park. It has its ups and downs. There are some times when you feel you are not progressing, some other times when the grammar structures seem impossible to comprehend, or there are many unfamiliar words to remember. It takes courage to jump from one obstacle to another and overcome them each time and carry on. It takes courage to start speaking from the beginning and step out of your comfort zone, especially when you travel abroad. To start interacting with the natives and let go of the fear of making mistakes, or being ridiculed for your funny accent, takes lots of courage. But thanks to my past efforts during last few years. I am not afraid to make mistakes and have realistic expectations. I persevere. And this is courage.

The goal of the study & Study Plan

  • Goal of study and detailed study plan

In order to become a great professor, choosing the right university is a crucial step in my career path. When choosing the right university, I have to ensure that my field of study is a strong point of the university I choose and sits high on its list of priorities. For me, just because a school looks beautiful does not mean that it can provide me the knowledge and the connections I need for my career path. Instead, there are other important factors like academic quality, curriculum, educational objectives, campus life, clubs, activities, research facilities, world ranking, alumni produced, university networks, areas of strength and etc. I did intensive research on the website of the universities and considering the curriculum, university reputation, research facilities and faculty members helpfulness, I choose Hanyang University, Kyung Hee University and Kangwon University as my preferred university for being three of the best universities in South Korea in the major of Computer Science and Engineering.

Why Computer Science and Engineering?

Computer Science and Engineering is a rapidly growing area that has become an integral part of the world that we live in today. Computer Science and Engineering impact everything, from scientific research to health development, transport, banking, communications and so on. Considering all of them, technology has the greatest influence in making the world a better place to live. Even objects like microwave ovens, fridges, or door locks are now connected to our Wi-Fi networks and personal assistants. As we move towards the future, technology will keep developing and help us overcome problems for which we do not have a solution right now. I loved to work with the computer from my early years in school and it especially increased when I knew its importance. It also made me love mathematics and now it is my favorite subject in school. For all the reasons above, I made the most important decision of my life to studying Computer Science and Engineering. There are a lot of interesting areas in this field and I am especially interested in Software Engineering. I want to get the best knowledge and experience and become a professional of this field. In the future as a professor, I want to teach this great knowledge to others in order to have a great impact in developing the next generation of gadgets and software programs that will improve the lives of millions of people around the world. The opportunity to study Computer Science and Engineering in one of the above-mentioned universities will surely enhance my skills and talent in an upper level which will make me a better world citizen.

My Academic Goals

As college is a time for growth, my main goal when studying Computer Science and Engineering is not just to quickly finish my degree but to shine. I found out that I would be studying Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, database, network security and many other interesting subjects when I checked my chosen universities’ websites. I plan to equally pay attention to all the subjects and get the highest grades in all of them. I will make sure to mark assignment deadlines in the calendar and have them cleared in time. I will also try my best to show high performance in all the class activities and presentations. I will take part in different extracurricular activities like volunteers, groups, clubs and activities in order to take a further step in socializing myself besides my academics and take advantage of college resources like the library, computer lab, unlimited internet, workshop and so much more. I will also keep in mind to have enough sleep and regular exercise for being physically healthy. I then make sure to be close with experienced professors to ensure that I get the best advice in the way of becoming a professor from experts. Finally, I will do my best to study hard and graduate from my undergraduate degree with best grades and honors.

How to Achieve My Goals

I will make Specific, Relevant and Attainable goals at the beginning of each semester. I will divide each of the goals into smaller goals and stick to them by making an organized schedule. To achieve my goals and learn Computer Science and Engineering in the best way, I have to gain the following skills:

Analytical skills. One of the key roles of a computer science engineer is to identify a technical problem and find apt solution for it. Thus, strong analytical skills are crucial to assess any problem from a different perspective and find the best solution. The first step in improving analytical skills is being really good in Mathematics, calculus and statistics. Thanks to my hard work in high school and taking extra classes, I have built my mathematical skills. I will also read more and more, as an important part of being analytical involves being alert and remaining stimulated. Reading on a more frequent basis will help keep my mind running and think in new ways, which leads to better analytical skills.

Problem-solving. One of the other key skills for computer science majors is the ability to solve complex problems in a systematic and logical way. This is because most of the projects I will be working on will require me to take a concept and turn it into a reality. In order to do this, I will need to be able to think about the best way to execute the project and then outline the steps needed to get it done. For improving my problem-solving skills, I will read the problem at least three times (or even more), as I cannot solve a problem I do not understand. Then I will work on the exact problem and solve it to reduce the steps. But if I could not find the exact solution, I will repeat the steps from the first to solve it. Surely repeating this process can improve my problem-solving skills that will lead to a fast and accurate solution.

Creativity. Creativity goes hand in hand with problem-solving and it is one of the other key skills I will need as a computer science major. Since coming up with solutions to problems is almost never a straightforward process, out-of-the-box thinking is often required in order to ensure that I am delivering the most innovative and effective solutions. I think reading more in my spare time and constant learning will be great for my creativity. For improving my creativity, I will take care of my mental health and then do ask and search about what I do not know, when I have enough inputs, new ideas start appearing.

By making an organized schedule I can save time and make sure to do everything in time. During the class, I will pay my full attention and keep my brain engaged and awake when listening to the professor and take proper notes. After the theoretical class, I will review the notes to evaluate my understanding, and then I will have to apply that knowledge through practical exercises in a computer laboratory. After well understanding of the lesson, I go on my homework and assignments to get them done in the best possible way. during my degree, it is really important to be part of a team. Once I will find a good study group, I will surely enjoy meeting with my peers, sharing ideas and working on interesting projects. When a few minds come together and work on some things, it becomes amazing.

For my physical and mental health, I will have 7 hours of sleep at night and a morning exercise and involve myself with the interesting Korean culture and language when I get bored. In my free time, I will be reading technological magazines and news like WIRED, Science News, Computer Shopper and etc. to beware of the latest information and discoveries in computer science, as it is a fast-changing area. Finally, the thing I am sure would ease many difficulties is my everlasting interest in computer science and programming.

Future Plan after Study

  • Future plan in Korea or another country after studying in Korea

After graduating with my undergraduate degree, I plan to find a job as a teacher in my country, Afghanistan. As I will need a lot of hard work and experience to become a university professor, no matter where I teach. This way, I practice what I have learned in South Korea and I get teaching experience which would be really important to be accepted as a professor later. There are a lot of other Afghans who consider Computer Science and Engineering as their major but the fact is that Afghanistan has really faced a shortage of experienced professors in technological fields. Then, I will go for a master`s degree in order to increase my knowledge and skills and take a further step in becoming a university professor. Â Lastly, I will always do research, as every professor do, on the development of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning which can make our lives easier and the world a better place to live.

Academic Goals Essay

Education is an essential aspect of personal and professional growth. As a student, I have long been inspired by all that education can offer. Since childhood, I have fully understood the value of academic achievement and how it can lead to so many opportunities. Over time, my enthusiasm for learning has only deepened. Now, I’m intent on creating a plan of success through education that will help me realize my dreams and aspirations.

In this essay, I will outline my academic goals, aspirations, and the steps I plan to take to achieve them. By mapping my path to academic success, I am confident that I can turn my dreams into reality and make a meaningful contribution to society.

Mapping My Path to Academic Success

As a student, setting academic goals is an important step towards achieving success in one’s academic pursuits. My academic goals are driven by my desire to acquire knowledge, develop new skills, and achieve academic excellence.

A Strong Foundation in English Language

My first goal is to develop a strong foundation in English language arts through a solid understanding of grammar and mechanics. This includes developing my reading comprehension skills by expanding my vocabulary and learning how to use rhetorical devices effectively when writing essays or creative pieces.

Skills Improvement

My second goal is to hone my analytical and reasoning skills in order to apply them in problem-solving scenarios beyond the classroom. To do this, I will first focus on honing my active listening skills both in and out of the classroom. This will involve working with other students on group projects and practicing listening objectively with an open mind. By listening carefully, thinking critically and understanding the steps necessary to identify the most important points, I’m confident I can acquire the necessary skills for problem-solving success and achieve my academic goals.

Ability to Researching

My third goal is to improve on my research skills so that I am able to conduct independent studies for school projects or for personal enrichment purposes by conducting thorough research into topics of interest such as current events, historical figures, and other topics related to society at large. This knowledge will help me gain a better understanding of the world and its people, as well as how particular topics influence our current society. The necessary skills I’ll hone in on include assessing sources, determining credibility when needed, and using sound judgement to identify which data should be focused on.

Writing and Communication Skills

My fourth academic goal is to develop strong writing and presentation skills. I believe that these skills are essential for academic and professional success. Therefore, I plan to take courses that emphasize writing and communication skills, attend workshops and seminars, and practice regularly. Writing will be a major part of my career as a teacher because I value the ability to clearly express myself in written documents. However, I have always struggled with this skill.

Student’s Development

Setting academic goals is an integral part of a student’s development, as the college years are when most students will encounter the highest levels of academic challenge and coursework. Setting a series of clear academic goals helps to structure a student’s academic pursuits, creating an environment that promotes high performance in the classroom and overall growth as a scholar. What makes these goals unique is their focus on creating a positive learning environment, making them something that students should consider designing into their schedules.

If you want to get more involved in a certain field or area of study, but your schedule does not allow for taking classes related to that topic, then it may be worth exploring other opportunities. There may be extracurricular activities or events that could allow you to gain the same knowledge and skills without those same time constraints. As well, remember that academic success can change over the course of your college career; what once seemed manageable may become more difficult as you take on advanced classes and level-up your learning strategy.

Conclusion

In summary, it is vital for every student who aspires to make a positive impact on the world to chart a course towards academic success. In this essay, I have shared my academic objectives and aspirations, as well as the actions I intend to take to accomplish them. I am resolute in my pursuit of knowledge and aim to make a significant contribution to society. Despite the challenges that lie ahead, I am determined to remain focused and dedicated to this journey towards academic triumph. With diligence, commitment, and a growth-oriented mindset, I am confident that I can attain my academic aspirations and create a brighter future for myself and those around me. My story is intended to inspire others to pursue their own goals and strive for academic excellence.

How I Plan to Be Successful in Completing the Nursing Program: Essay

Almost three months ago, I found myself 31 years old, with four kids, failing as a student, and battling with life priorities. After failing out of the nursing program for the second time, I ask myself every morning, “How am I going to be successful?”. Well, the answer to this question pushes me to do what it takes, no matter what, why, and how many times I stumble and fail. I raise my head and push forward. With all intention, in this essay, I present my remediation plan. Developed to help me reach my goals in nursing school and be successful. After analyzing test scores and study skills, I finally concluded that I MUST change my strategy. Now, I have a better understanding of how I can successfully address my situation and make the best of it.

One of the main targets for me is organization. This is my starting point. I plan to start using a daily planner where I can put in everything I have to complete for lectures and clinical work. As I get so stressed and overwhelmed by the number of assignments and material to be covered, I expect that by planning what to study and when to study, I’ll make sure I have covered what’s required, which will enable me to relax and focus. I created a draft to see what it would look like. I divided the day into three parts. Set aside 2-3 hours a day to read and review with breaks of 10-15 minutes in between. It’s all about time management. This will allow me to plan when and what I will specifically study to not only get through reading but also to digest the material. My goal here is to focus on understanding the different concepts one at a time. Thus, preventing me from drowning with the amount of reading to be completed. I’ll carry this planner with me wherever I go to help me stay focused on the priorities for the week. This way I can keep track of due dates, exam dates, and any school plans ahead. My objective here is to be proactive and help myself keep a busy schedule organized, and not be all over the place trying to figure out if I missed something.

Secondly, I have to take control of the testing anxiety I have been experiencing. The fear of performing poorly has, certainly, affected me in many ways. I get anxious just thinking that after the test I’ll be judged by teachers, fellow students, family members, you name it. The level of anxiety surpasses me and I blank out on the material I know. Consequently, this has contributed immensely to my second failure in nursing school. With that being said, I’m working to find the right way to block out ‘performance anxiety’ up to a certain point so that I can concentrate and demonstrate that I do know the material. Undoubtedly, I have to allow myself to truly believe I can accomplish it. I also read some helpful handouts about testing anxiety. Moreover, I consulted with the Director of Personal Counseling Services. His advice was beyond beneficial to me. We spoke about strategies I can use to decrease my testing anxiety, such as how to do some serious ‘thought stopping’ and how to calm myself down. He also helped me understand how powerful my thoughts are and how I am the only one who can take control by using positive affirmation.

As far as social support, the plan here is to make it stronger. I had a formal conversation with my mother and close family members on how they could help out with my kids and endless household chores. I have always had a sense of guilt when I have to put my kids aside or when I have to ask someone for help so that I can get things done around the house, moreover, to do what I have to do for school. My mom is willing to pick up the kids after school and my aunts will take turns coming over to my house to help with chores and the kids. This will allow me to step out of the house, and go to a quiet place to study over the weekend at least for a few hours. I also plan to stay at school after classes to take care of school assignments, readings, etc. instead of heading straight home where I can’t concentrate a hundred percent.

Finally, yet importantly, I have researched nursing test-taking strategies I can put into practice. I found helpful resources. One of them is Kaplan. I signed up for one of their multiple free online NCLEX Success Seminars and for their Prescription for Success event to be held in Charlotte. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to acquire critical thinking skills.

Believe it or not, I am thankful to be where I am now. Situations, circumstances, and life experiences made me who I am today. I am open to any suggestions and willing to go the extra mile when needed. My purpose is to serve and nurture those around me, my community. I truly believe that this time I will complete my nursing program and finally be able to fulfill my dreams.

Rutgers University Supplemental Essay

Attending college is always a difficult phase for every student because they have to get settled in a different environment and with people from almost all over the globe. Meeting people who are perusing the same profession as you are challenging because you have a lot more pressure and you have to be able to look as professional as them. Career is one of the most important things in everyone’s life. Your career describes what are you going to be doing your whole life and what would be the source of income for you and your family. One needs to select a profession that he loves doing and get a degree in because he does not want to do something that he is not interested in. Getting up every day knowing that you would be doing what you love will make your day a lot better. However, if you know that you will be getting out of college learning and getting a job, it makes you feel good about yourself.

As an ambitious and growing college student, I have to enhance my knowledge of the community in which I reside. Rutgers has the capability to educate me both academically and culturally in the world around me. I could elevate myself to something new and innovative every day through its vast and diverse community. All I want to do is go outside the front door and speak to the thousands of people from all over the world who are enrolled in academic institutions to reach a high level of enrichment.

There are indeed hundreds of classes, programs, and important events on the campus to assist me in actually learning and leading along an understanding and acceptance path. Rutgers is distinctive and culturally diverse. There would be new levels of personal enrichment both within and outside the classroom each day. In order to study at such a diverse college and community at Rutgers, I could also achieve a secondary goal of exploring the world. During my studies, I could implicate myself to a new culture every day, enabling us to better understand and comprehend how others reside in their daily routines. Education and training oneself is also crucial step toward self-enrichment. Rutgers’ educational excellence is indeed a national standard. There are hundreds of courses offered on the campus in a hundred areas of study. All that is necessary is to take the first step and be ready to absorb a great deal of knowledge.

Through a phenomenal education and an extensive community, relationships can become much more realistic and practical with my personal career goals. They say lifelong friendships at college are always made. Life-long friendships are also the strides to establish a strong network that encourages and empowers you to take your life into your own hands.

As an immigrant, we struggle a lot as we come from different environments and different school systems, so, at Rutgers, I plan to pursue the myriad academic goals, which I have firmly established for myself. One of them is that I will be the first to earn a diploma in my family at a university in the United States of America. If I became an alumnus of Rutgers, I would make the rest of my family proud.

My Desire to Participate in the Student Exchange Program

Being someone who has so many interests in exploring the various challenges that comes in life at different stages, I see this student exchange program as a very beneficial chapter that one can experience in their university episode of life.

That was a remarkable opportunity to be a participant of the Phase I of CSA – UWE student exchange program where so many collaborative activities happened with the students from UWE who visited Sri Lanka in November 2019 for 10 days. The experiences I gained from that program made me realize that the phase II of this program where 10 students from our studio (CSA) getting a chance to collaborate with UWE students at Bristol would be a once in a life-time opportunity to better my knowledge.

Therefore, I would like to express my strong interest for participating in this exchange program in January 2020, in which I see as an exciting next step in the expansion of my career outside my familiar surroundings and comfort zone. Being an eligible student since I am currently studying in Part II Year I where urban designing plays a major role in this academic year, the related program they would be hosting will ensure so much knowledge from a different perspective.

I perceive this exchange program would help me in broadening my knowledge base, acquiring skills and maturity through facing the challenges and significantly improve my present abilities with a global background. I hope that this would be an opportunity to increase self-confidence and gain a mutual understanding between another culture in which is so much different to my own in many ways.

In addition, this is a unique opportunity to meet new people, expand my contact network and meet new colleagues from the other part of the world. The excitement of living in another country even for 10 days, blended with the support and security from UWE as the host would great. Making new friends, and sometimes a new set of brothers and sisters who will last a life time and who will help you understand the world through new eyes. On the other hand, I hope that the friends we became friendly already and shared the cultural background of my own country would do the same for us and make us knowledgeable as well.

I see myself as a hardworking responsible individual, and as a strong team player. Therefore, I always strive to give my best in all the activities in school and especially in academics. I am convinced that my academic experiences combined with working experiences make me a suitable candidate for the program. However, it’s not only the academics that matter but how I stand for the opportunities to expand my boundaries with the fellow mates. Anyway, since we should be never too old to learn new techniques, where I see this opportunity is so valuable as per the conversations had with the UWE students, I am also looking forward to explore their technological background.

Finally, I would like to genuinely acknowledge that I would stand confidently to make sure that my school, CSA will be represented well at my best and that I would be helping in all the ways possible for the success of this program. Thanking in advance for this opportunity and for considering my application I would like to state that if I get the chance, this would not be just 10 days of my life, but would be another memorable chapter in my life within 10 days.

Nursing College is So Much More Than Just the Degree

Why College and Nursing College is more than just the degree it promises? At a time when student debts are soaring, one would question why anyone would want to join college. Well, I am already here, fully enrolled and ready for what is likely to be the best and most important experience of my life.

College is about the connections that you make. You could be studying, in the same class, with the next Bill Gates or you could easily have your own Zuckerberg experience. There is also the likely outcome of gaining critical knowledge. This is where you get to earn education and skills that are essential for surviving this extremely competitive world. Creativity is likely to be improved here while talents get perfected. Understanding different cultures is also an added advantage as colleges enroll students from different backgrounds with unique cultures which exposes each student to a part of the world they never knew about. College is about gaining knowledge, sharing experiences and understanding the world in its various aspects, thus, my enrollment in this prestigious institution.

Elementary school created a passion for learning new concepts in me. Knowledge was exciting then as it is even up to now. The thought of gaining even more knowledge excited me. I would spend hours in the school library, sometimes even reaching out for voluminous books as they seemed to contain more knowledge. However, as with most things we desire, I found the books to be, most of the time, difficult to understand and I gradually lost interest. My English was still basic at this time. As I moved to middle school, more complex words were introduced and I could now understand complex books. My interest in English was average at best during this time, it however grew once I joined high school. I wanted to become a writer and my English teacher encouraged me, advising that I should read more books and pay attention to the dynamics of the English language. In my quest to understand English and learn new words, I came across a collection of influential women in the 19th century. This is where I learnt the history of Florence Nightingale and probably what subtly influenced my college degree selection.

As a person, I understand my limitations. In as much as I would want to surpass them, I am well aware of the lengths I cannot surpass. I plan to come out of this institution with a nursing degree, however, more importantly, I hope to understand the world better through my college experience. I believe that understanding the world will help me become a better nurse, and a better person generally. Through my nursing degree, I hope to care for patients and help lengthen their lives and relieve them of the pain resulting from various ailments. Understanding the world will help me connect with patients emotionally which, I believe, will help with my provision of nursing care.

Every course has its challenges and so does nursing. Attaining the degree will require perseverance, endurance, patience and a lot of practice. Through these four attributes, I believe that the nursing degree will be achievable. According to Hoerr, grit is an integral part of a student’s success in any level of learning (118). Grit involves the aforementioned attributes. Enrolling for the nursing course and having an interest in creating a better world through touching one life at a time will not be enough to complete this degree. Nursing will require working smart which I plan to do. Having a schedule and sticking to it will help me plan my time, allocating enough time for study and for recreational activities. With a proper plan, productivity is likely to be achieved. I also plan on having meaningful nursing-centered interaction with my fellow class members. Having classmates with common goals of success in this field and interacting with them will help me remain focused through the positive influence that will result from our interactions such as group studies. Interacting with nursing students in upper levels will also help as they can advise on how they made it past the first year of this college course. Learning from already accomplished nurses will also help me understand how to go about the nursing profession. I plan on engaging nurses in local hospitals and inquiring how they managed to go through college and their experiences in the nursing field. Understanding innovations and inventions in the nursing field will prepare me for nursing practice as the nursing field is an ever evolving profession. As technology advances, nursing practice also improves. Identifying mentors in school and in the nursing profession will make these plans and goals practical. Recreation is also important in keeping the mind active. For my study breaks and to break the monotony of nursing, I plan on playing musical instruments. English is an essential part of this course, and many other courses. Through English, the skills that I require for writing term papers, essays and any other academic paper will be acquired.

Knowledge can only be acquired and applied effectively through proper education. Having a college degree now is more important than ever. It is easier to find a job with a college degree than without (Oreopoulos, Philip, and Uros Petronijevic 2). Therefore, college is essential, at least for me, as I plan on securing a future through the practice of nursing. English will be an essential tool through all my undergraduate and even post-graduate years.

How Would Scholarship Money Impact Your College Career: Essay

I was excited to read about the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and would certainly like to apply for it. My application is conditional upon being awarded a scholarship, and I sincerely wish for a full-study scholarship.

Growing up on the outskirts of Beijing, I have witnessed how economics has changed the life of local citizens. For the past decade, my hometown – Daxing – has transformed from an agriculture-intense district to a place where medical factories, food processing plants, and the new airport all lie within. This has inspired me to pursue a relevant and meaningful education and profession and strived all the way from being a small-town girl to becoming a world citizen.

Thanks to the National Scholarship, I was able to spend two decent years at UCSD with a major in Economics and eventually graduated from CUEB with the Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis prize. Through my work pay at Total and the Mitsubishi UFJ Scholarship awarded for excellence in academics, I was able to support myself through my senior year. My work on and off-campus has displayed the legacy of both schools, such as UCSD’s research tradition and CUEB’s spirit of serving the community. At the 2018 UCSD Faculty Mentoring Program Symposium, my presentation gained high approval among other researchers and listeners by urging a change in the current water management manual according to forecasts and adopting maintenance cost reduction measures. In my later independent project initiated for the Daxing District, I was able to analyze and forecast the local house price. These experiences are all challenging and rewarding. In all, my time studying in multiple nations has not only allowed me to gain knowledge but also trained me to become a problem-solver with a global perspective. I feel that I have a responsibility to share with the Erasmus Mundus community what CUEB and UCSD have contributed to my learning and personal development.

Without any source of income for the two academic years of the master’s program, however, will make it difficult to continue my graduate work while being in great financial difficulty. Receiving the Erasmus Mundus scholarship will provide me with the peace of mind and security to manage my rent, utilities, transportation, and book expenses. The scholarship will allow me the time to focus on maintaining a high GPA, and take up a full load of classes while simultaneously preparing for my thesis. My observation of the surroundings and experiences have continued to motivate me to persist and to use my education to solve different kinds of problems aroused in the ever-changing global economy. I trust the scholarship selection committee will provide me with the support I need to bolster my potential studies in the QEM program and to actualize my goal of becoming an economist.

Why I Want to Study Abroad: Essay

Introduction

I am Jaspreet Singh from India. I’m currently pursuing a full-time post-graduation certificate program (Global Business Management) at Conestoga college. As usual, before coming to study in Canada I faced a lot of ups and downs which I will share in this report. There are various decisions that I took in my entire life but the hardest decision was whether I continue my studies in Canada or not. I devoted a lot of time to decide about this because this is one of the vital parts of my life so here is my decision-making model describing my situation.

Identifying the Problem

After completing my graduation in Business Administration, I was very confused about my future as I wanted to serve an institution as an accountant but can’t find any job are too many struggles. After four months after my graduation, I got a job at HDFC Bank as a junior credit manager (JCM). After working for 4-5 months there I come to know that there is no scope for growth so I planned to study abroad and that was the turning point in my life. This is a crucial part of my life so I had to be careful before taking this decision. Studying abroad is not easy as there are too many problems faced including homesickness, financial problems, program selection, country selection, etc. I had to take my decision by keeping all these problems in mind.

Gathering Information

I started gathering some information about my plan to study abroad. There are some problems that I need to keep in mind while making my final decision. I research the study abroad requirements online and come to know that there are some requirements that are to be fulfilled to study abroad. These requirements are different for different countries. But there is a requirement for IELTS in every country. Most of my friends suggested I come to Canada as it is a welcoming country. Apart from my friends, my brother is also studying in Canada and he also suggested I come here and gave me some options to select from. To collect more information, I attended some seminars in which college associates met students who are willing to come study abroad. There I heard about Conestoga college, which I find a reputed college among others. The associates told me about the campuses and the study criteria which includes a lot of practical knowledge.

Generating Options

I need to select some alternatives within which I can decide and overcome the problems. There are alternatives with critical categories which includes:

  • Countries: In the beginning, I had 4 countries in my mind within which I had to make decisions (United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia).
  • Geographic: Location is also one of the major parts to select. As if I select Australia, I need to select one city and search for colleges in that city and if I select Canada, then firstly I need to select a province and then the city in it which had colleges with good reputations.
  • College: After selecting the city I need to search for the colleges in that city. As I said Canada is my first priority so I figure out some colleges such as Centennial College, Conestoga College, Seneca college, etc.
  • Programs: As I completed my graduation in Business Administration so I had a great interest in business lines and my dream programs are International Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Global Business Management.

The following table will explain my weightage for my decision criteria:

Decisions

Weightage

Countries 30%

  • Geographic 25%
  • Colleges 35%
  • Programs 10%

Analyzing the situation and Selecting the best option

After analyzing my situation and the options available to me I started figuring out the best option. From the above options, I selected to continue my studies in the province of Ontario, Canada. After selecting Ontario I’m a little confused about selecting the college as there are too many good colleges in Ontario. Then I started my research over the internet and started collecting information from my friends (in Canada) who helped me to select Conestoga college over all other colleges due to its good infrastructure and friendly faculty members. At last, I select Global Business Management at Conestoga college as this program is having all of my desired courses which I want to study.

Implementing the Plan

Now as I had selected the correct options, it was time for the implementation. Firstly, I have to prepare for my IELTS as it is the gateway to my dreams. After 20 days of training, I cracked IELTS and entered the race of going to study abroad. I visited some consultancy agencies to process my application for a student visa. I provide them with all my past qualification certificates and apply for the offer letter from Conestoga college. Within 20-25 days my offer letter arrived and I deposited my fees online and get received my payments. Next to it, I opened my GIC account in Scotia Bank and I’m all ready to apply for my visa. Within 22 days my visa gets approved and I did a little shopping and booked my air ticket to Canada. My uncle is living in Brampton city and he came to receive me at the airport. I was living with them for 15 days and the whole family helped me a lot to start my new life here. It was too challenging to find accommodation near my college as there is no one known to me in that area. My cousin helped me to find accommodation in Waterloo city, which I like the most. Finally, I attended my orientation and starts my studies here. It’s almost 3 months since my studies get started and I have almost completed my first semester. I personally liked this experience as this is a peaceful country and people are welcoming.

Evaluating & Learning from Decision

Overall it was an amazing experience as my dreams come true and I’m studying at Conestoga College, Canada. I like this country as it is a multicultural country with the people properly following rules and regulations. Moreover, I like the transportation services (GRT) here and people are so helpful that you never feel homesick. It’s only 3 months since I’m here and I learned so many new things like skating, preparing food, and a lot more which are added to my experience list. I think this was the most important decision in my life and had become a turning point in my life as I’m living a quality life here in Canada. This assignment remembers the struggles I had made during this decision and help me to take good decisions in the future which turns out to be a good thing for me.
