Electrical Engineering: Personal Statement

I now submit this personal statement to apply for Electronic and Electrical Engineering. My strong interest in this field was inspired as early as my primary years at school by my aunt. When I was young, she always bought some kinds of electrical kits for me. Then, when I finished my schoolwork, I often took out the kits and jointed the circuit elements. At that time I was really keen on this kind of way to entertain myself and the various functions of different elements and combinations fascinated me. Since I attended junior school and started to learn physics formally, I voraciously read the textbooks and tried to understand the key points, even though sometimes it was hard to understand some of the worked examples or memorize all the definitions given. I also turned to my physics teacher for help when I had problems doing electrical experiments. With my growing interest in physics, especially electrical engineering, I decided to come to this international school, to explore more about this subject because traditional Chinese schools do not offer such courses.

During my one and a half years in Cardiff and Vale College (Shanghai Centre), I worked diligently on my AS test subjects; Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics, and the test results were very good. I also realized the importance of knowledge outside the books as I know Electronic and Electrical Engineering is a subject more than formulae and theorems. To achieve a variety of skills that this major requires, I attended several extra-curricular activities which helped me better apply what I have learnt. I joined the British Physics Olympiad in order to train my logical thinking and become more skilled in the using of different formulae. Meanwhile, I attended a Robot club to understand the application of electrical principles. In that club, I learnt a lot of things that I couldn’t learn from the course book. I also attended the annual Avogadro Exam of Chemistry and I placed 1490th in the world, out of nearly 5000 participants.

As well as the practical experiences closely related to Electronic and Electrical Engineering, I also have read a number of articles which relate to this major in order to trace the development of electrical theories at the frontier of this subject. Michael Faraday is the first scientist introduced to me by my physics teacher as a part of the development of electrical science. His theory of electromagnetic induction was very fascinating to me and opened a door to electrical science for me.

As I acknowledge more academic theories, I realize that Electronic and Electrical Engineering is more than a subject on paper. This subject is not restricted to electricity. In order to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the inside meaning of this course and myself as a man facing the unlimited cosmos of knowledge, I also have read many books on Electrical Engineering by many various experts in this field. The way Electrical Engineering explains the theories really encourages me to explore deeper in the sea of knowledge. I do hope I can explore more of this fascinating subject at a UK university.

Electrical Engineering: Statement of Purpose

Electrical engineering projects are masterpieces, and I treat myself as an artist when I am doing a project. The soldering iron in my hand is the brush, and the heat is the paint; the data sheets are the drawing guides, and the circuit board design is the work of painting. For me, using different components to make new magic is such a thrilling thing to do. The electrical engineering field is becoming accelerating as engineers find new solutions to their problems. Limitless opportunities for innovative contributions are waiting for young electrical engineers, and I decided that I would pursue electrical engineering for the rest of my life. This process begins with my innate curiosity and the ability to find detailed problems to solve.

Falling from a treadmill is embarrassing — a personal problem to say the least. After I tumbled from a treadmill, I found multiple injuries on my arms and legs. Then when I wanted to get to the root of why I had fallen through researching online, I realized other fitness lovers also experience falls from treadmills, especially those who are older. Using my background in electrical engineering projects, I decided to design a safe controlling method by using the affordable, proven technology of ultrasonic wave detection. I came up with an idea for building a new treadmill that can detect the real-time movement of the users and can prevent them from falling. The single-chip controller I used is STM32F103. For most of the experiments I tested in the lab, I found that my controlling method was very sensitive within an 8 mm error. With this idea, I published a utility patent and paper during my undergraduate career. From then on, I began to understand how beneficial it can be to others when thought in my head becomes new technology for a product. (At XXX university, …. XXX provides … I look forward to ….) I am more than excited to have immersed myself in the field of engineering, and I can’t wait to keep learning and applying myself to all the engineering problems the world has to offer. I realized that the duty of an engineer is to make the world a better place.

Along with the treadmill patent, I completed another project about an ultra-low resistance joint for connecting wires, which was also an issued patent in my sophomore year. (Will add details) With multiple trials I need to test, time management is extremely important for every project. A thoughtful plan can save me plenty of time. Before I start creating a project, I think over every step in my brain and arrange them in order of importance. It is the same as I need a composition of a picture in my mind before painting. My capstone project was about an urban E-bike. One of my tasks was soldering thirty 18650 battery cells together as a battery pack; ten cells were in series as one set and three sets were in parallel. There wasn’t a spot-welder in my lab. Thus, I tried to use metal strips to replace spot soldering, but later I found the normal soldering machine could not let solder be attached to the surface of electrodes. As a result, I soldered dots on the metal strips to form contact points. It worked, but a new problem arose when I taped the batteries together with electric tape and measured them with the multimeter; I got some unexpected zero values which indicated there is a loose point somewhere between the two ammeter pens. To fix the separate cells more tightly, I bent some paperclips to make springs to attach to the negative electrode and stuck them together by using a hot glue gun. Although the battery pack is a small part of my capstone project, I did really enjoy the process of problem-solving. I was so excited when I got the value of 42 V from the ammeter. I pride myself on my tenacity and resilience when I fail. The result proves all is worth it when I achieve the goal I set at the beginning.

Engineering work is typically busy and stressful. However, nothing comes easy in our lives. Being stressed is an asset that can accelerate the development of engineering. Last semester I was enrolled in 23 credits while doing a major project at the same time. Now when I think back to that time, I recognize it as a meaningful time in my life. Facing a lot of difficulties is like a game: the more challenges I face, the stronger and smarter I will become. When I click “start,” an exciting journey begins.

Getting involved in the engineering community through various academic seminars is a part of my campus life. I enjoyed learning something from the presenters’ work by seeing their creative thinking and ideas. I prioritize creativity since a lot of problems from projects that I will be working on have never been done in the past. I remember I was the only international student who attended a Town Hall Student Forum held by my University, which was about the campus financial budget cut. Unlike many international student peers, I willingly integrated into the engineering school culture. As a part of the community, I contributed my ideas to better the college by offering solutions to spend effectively with the budget cut.

Engineers always work with others in a team, and I value the importance of teamwork and cooperation. I am a driven engineer and leader who is ready to accomplish any task put in front of me. Every day, I continue to improve myself by putting countless hours into gaining knowledge about engineering or leadership, whether it’s in the classroom, through projects, or just reading about new topics. I hope to be a leader in innovative electrical engineering technology. I spend most of my time studying with classmates and tutoring them at libraries or labs on weekends. My happiest times are when my course work is affirmed by my classmates during the group review discussion before exams. Through interactions, I am inspired and inspire my group members at the same time. I am also happy to serve others. I volunteered in a STEM festival that let American teenagers do hands-on experiments and taught them the theories of experiments. I showed them how amazing small experiments can be with the power of engineering science. I feel that it is a privilege to be able to use my ability and enjoy this responsibility in the places where I am needed.

I envision myself as a young researcher pushing the frontier of control methods in the years to come. My enthusiasm for electrical engineering, love of challenges, and a solid background in both mathematics and engineering are well suited for the research world. I would like to be a professor in the future to guide more people in understanding how powerful engineering technology can be. Learning is a long journey, but I have not yet reached my destination. People always ask me why I choose XXX University. Apart from the fact that XXX offers XXX (Too vague for now. Need to do more research into each university I apply to and specifically talk about why they are good and a good fit), I love how passionate and hardworking people(vague) are at XXX (place name). I do want to further my studies and start the exciting new chapter of my academic journey in the U.S. at XXX University. I think it is the perfect place for people who are passionate and curious about life. I would love to attend the Electrical Engineering PhD program at XXX University and work with world-leading experts in this field. If possible, I am excited to work with Prof.XXXX and Prof.XXXXX. I plan to connect my interests with their expertise in XXX Models and Controlling. I believe XXXX will give me the tools, values, and supervision to fully realize my research potential. I live for what I love and work hard for it. Nothing makes me happier than devoting myself to my love and passion for electrical engineering.

Adversity Essay on Medical School

I did not wake up spontaneously one morning and think, “I want to go into medicine.” I did not have a close family member or friend to introduce me to the field. There has not been a life-altering medical adversity in my life. My decision to pursue medicine came from a series of small but significant experiences, each one reinforcing the previous one, that inspired me to become a physician. My love for knowledge and eagerness to discover the unknown reaffirmed my aspiration in the midst of a time of advancement and growth in the medical field. Additionally, my passion for gaining awareness about various cultures, their customs, and their hardships inspired me to pursue becoming a physician. Ultimately, my recent experiences in medicine, my desire to learn more, and my interest in diverse peoples and cultures drive my pursuit of medical school.

The first vivid memory I have is of me being 4 years old and being snuck into the hospital by my father to see my newborn brother. I don’t remember it but my parents say I was especially invested in my mother’s pregnancy, from helping decide between different color onesies to asking every morning if the baby had slept well. Of course, this fascination is commonplace for an only child, and I believe it fueled my interest in the female reproductive system and pregnancy later in life.

My mother was a science teacher when I was around 9, and she would show me documentaries of the gestation process and videos of live births. I was enamored. I knew it was the thing for me when I started to look them up by myself.

As a young woman, I now understand the importance of women’s health care. I know it’s more than just pregnancy, and tied to it are so many myths and misconceptions, taboo topics, and social stigma. It is my determination to help women feel secure, safe, and free of judgment and my passion for women’s health that brings me to you.

My decision to pursue medicine has been fortified by the satisfaction and success in my human physiology and anatomy courses. I am captivated by how complex the human body is and the functions it performs. The aspect that intrigues me the most about medicine is being able to care for someone and make a difference in their life for the betterment of their health, while at the same time having a deep understanding of the processes and mechanisms involved in the human body.

A successful doctor is caring, dedicated and inquisitive. I believe these are qualities that I possess, and by pursuing a career in medicine, I can use these qualities to help everyone I can.

Essay on Dance Is My Passion

I have spent much of my time learning and practicing the art of dance since I was four years old. Thus, when it was time for me to make a decision about a major in college, my decision was simple and rather obvious. After high school graduation, I plan to continue my studies in a fine arts dance program to continue to grow as a performer and also in my knowledge of dance. When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming a professional dancer and instructor. As I grew older and faced many injuries throughout the years, I became more interested in how the body works and how to stay injury-free. I now hope to use my dance degree as a pathway to become a physical therapist who specializes in injury prevention and recovery for dancers and athletes. The love that I have for dance is beyond measure, and I never would have thought that I would have the opportunity to pursue this passion post-high school. Dancing is truly what I wish to do for the rest of my life and having the opportunity to study dance and movement on the college level feels like an absolute dream.

My dance training has well prepared me for the physical challenges that will come with being involved in a college-level dance program. In addition to the physical challenges, there are various types of academic work expected within the dance major. I have conducted research on this topic in an attempt to better understand the academic writing required in my intended major.

Methods

As my primary source, I chose to interview Savannah Johnson via telephone. Savannah is a graduate of Coker College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and she is also my cousin. I knew that Savannah would be a helpful person for me to interview because she recently obtained her BFA in Dance in 2018. As a recent graduate, she is aware of the rigorous academic course load that comes with a dance degree. I also felt comfortable asking Savannah these questions because we grew up together learning and participating in dance-related events for most of our lives. Savannah now exercises the skills she learned during her college dance experience by working two jobs involving teaching dance. She teaches dance at the Columbia Music Festival Association and the Stretch and Grow after-school program. I interviewed Savannah by asking for information on the writing, performance, and professional experiences she encountered throughout her undergraduate studies. In addition, I asked Savannah what her motivation was in choosing to major in dance and what advice would she give to someone considering auditioning for a college dance program.

In addition to interviewing Savannah, I was able to find a couple of helpful secondary resources that elaborated on the types of writing required when pursuing an undergraduate degree in dance. An article from the Appalachian State University Dance Department provided a clear layout and description of the various writing styles that may be used with a college dance education. Another article from The University of Richmond delivers an introduction to the terms often used in dance. These two sources along with the information I obtained from Savannah were very helpful towards my research.

Results

Throughout this research process, I was able to gather an abundant amount of information involving obtaining an undergraduate degree in dance. Savannah Johnson, who I interviewed as my primary source, was very descriptive in her response to what advice she would give to a young person considering pursuing an undergraduate degree in dance. She says, “Make certain that dancing is what you want to do for the rest of your life. An undergraduate degree in dance leads to a career in dance, and in today’s society artist struggle to find a solid platform to exercise their creativity.” She proceeded to tell me the reason that she is so passionate about teaching dance is to be a positive influence on her students and to instill in them a passion for dance as she has. When I asked Savannah what types of writing she was asked to do to receive her degree she listed: a resume, written interpretations of choreography, article reviews, and performance critiques. Savannah proceeded to talk to me about how a dancer uses movement to tell stories instead of words. Taking movements and changing them into written words helped her grow extremely as a dancer and as a writer. As she wrote about the movements on paper it made her think and connect with her emotions on a deeper level.

While Savannah’s responses were helpful and broad, I was still curious to conduct some independent research through the use of secondary sources. The University of Calgary posted an online article titled Writing About Dance. The author wrote, “In writing about dance, we share our insight into the artfulness of work; our task is to identify the artistic qualities which make up the work in question. This means helping readers perceive the form of the work, and thereby appreciate its content. Much more is required than such expressions of personal taste as: ‘I don’t know anything about dance, but I liked it’ or ‘I didn’t like it.’” Setting aside your own opinions in your writing forces you to think deeper into the meaning behind the performance, rather than thinking vaguely about whether or not you enjoyed watching the performance.

The Appalachian State University Writing Across the Curriculum Program, Writing About Dance, confirmed the types of writing that Savannah had listed. Additionally, this secondary source provides a brief description of each writing skill.

Conclusion

A dance major will provide a pathway for me to become a physical therapist for dancers and athletes. Both physical and academic challenges will work hand in hand to prepare me for that career. Writing within the dance major is often centered on interpreting body movement into words, which in turn will help me grow as a dancer. No doubt majoring in dance requires much passion for the art. This is a passion that I believe I possess. Therefore, the information that I have discovered through this research project has not swayed my decision to major in dance but only made me more excited.

My Dream of Becoming a Pharmacist

The pharmacy has been my dream since I was a child. It is a helpful necessity for all people. Although the path to the pharmacy is a rigorous way it is a worthy one. Regarding me, I chose this path for many reasons such as an interest in science, a difficult family situation, helping people.

Firstly, I love science like chemistry, anatomy, biology, and mathematical applications. When I studied these subjects, I felt invigorated by how challenging the material is. It was like a brain exercise that allowed me to sharpen mental reflexes. I love how science connects history and discoveries from across the world. In addition, it explains all natural phenomena. The other reason is that science requires critical thinking skills, not just memorization.

Secondly, a difficult family situation was a strong incentive to study pharmacy. For many years, I have wanted to study pharmacy. But due to circumstances out of my control, I was not able to and helped me realize my dream to become a good pharmacist. My mother had been ill for many years with heart disease and diabetes complications. She was required to take a plethora of medications for treatment. She was unable to read the directions on her prescription bottles. All those times I read them for her and learning their side effects increased my interest and love for pharmacy.

Furthermore, helping people to live healthy lives. My previous job helped understand me to understand how people need medical help, especially how elderly people need extra care. I worked as a dental hygienist for many years in the ministry of health, then I transferred into a big hospital. I felt so happy when I could be of service to people with anything. After many years of working as a dental hygienist, I felt as though I owe it to myself and others to return to my passion of becoming a pharmacist. The pharmacy has a big role in helping people live the best and most fulfilling lives they can.

In conclusion, my life’s motto is: doctors and pharmacists have a great part in bettering people’s lives and lessening stressors. My passion for scientific material, difficult circumstances and helping people is the reason why I am seeking a path in pharmacy.

I really hope that all my efforts and aspirations will allow me to finally fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a pharmacist.

Why Are You Interested in This Internship and Why Do You Think You Are a Good Fit: Argumentative Essay

Currently, I’m a Health Science student at Grant County High School taking Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology, and Emergency Procedures for college credit. I am interested in becoming a senior intern at St. Elizabeth for everything the internship entails. I believe I would be a good fit for this internship opportunity because I have a strong desire for learning about health careers, a strong work ethic, and I enjoy helping and caring for others.

For the last 2 weeks, my Principles of Health Science class has also been learning about many different healthcare careers, the education levels needed to pursue those careers, and the careers’ salaries. I’ve learned the most about therapeutic services, which are mainly focused on changing the health status of a patient over time. Some of my interests would include working in the Emergency Services department. For my career, I would like to become a paramedic (EMT-P) or possibly go into a nursing career (ER) which would be amazing. I also learned many different skills like taking pulse, bleeding control, and applying splints. Another interest would be to job shadow while interning, it sounds very engaging. Asking them any questions or learning about the job and the duties that come with it. All of the different program categories like Office/Administrative – which my class has just learned about Target Health/ Wellness – or Engineering/Facilities will definitely be eye-opening. I enjoy learning experiences. Some of my qualities include being persistent, dependable, and responsible while still friendly, determined, and confident.

My work ethic could be described as upstanding. I usually arrive to classes early to take out any notes or homework we had done the other day so then I’ll be ready to work when class starts. I am organized with everything and having a routine helps so that I know how much time it takes to do a certain task. For example, the first 30 minutes of class are usually devoted to going over the homework and notes. Then the rest of class is more notes, studying, or tests. By doing so, I can increase my productivity and get more work done. I work really well in teams, helping others when I’m done with my part and then sharing all the information together. My work is high-quality in that I use diagrams, highlighters, and different colored pens, getting rid of anything that is not neat, many resources, etc. I’m willing to give anything a try.

Helping people is one of the reasons why I wanted to join the healthcare team. I care for people greatly. My church (UMC) has this annual mission trip to Ida Spence. We did the Last Saturday Meal involving the group bagging meals for many families and we prayed with them. It was a very life-changing experience bringing me to want to help more people. Even at school, I have a really great bond with everyone, and knowing when they are hurt or just need someone to talk to is always the first thing on my mind. Helping people is why I want to become a paramedic. They arrive first and assess what needs to be done and will rush the patient to the hospital if needed. They have to be prepared for anything to happen. Also, an ER nurse will ultimately care for any patients, no matter what condition they are in when brought to the hospital by the paramedics.

I am really interested in your internship. I am very passionate about what I do, and I believe in making a positive difference in the patient experience.

Why Do I Want to Be an LPN: Argumentative Essay

Choosing a future career can be difficult, confusing, and intimidating for a high school senior. People say find something that you love to do and you will never work a day in your life, but there are thousands of jobs out there. Of course, as children, we dream of being a superhero or a fabulously rich Powerball winner, but the truth is that high school is almost over and the opportunity for further education is on the horizon. A high school senior is not completely understood, and in turn, high school seniors do not completely understand what life is like outside of high school. We will be on our own soon, making us wonder what life will be like in the coming months and years. The biggest question is ‘What do I want to do when I grow up?’. Who knew it would be so difficult to decide what to do with our futures? Do we look for just a job or find a career? Everyone has so much advice. People say find something that you love to do and you will never work a day in your life. For me, this means finding a job that fulfills the goals set for my life, sharing my time with family and friends, and giving myself the chance to learn and experience new things from others. If graduating from high school is a stepping stone to starting our young lives, then furthering our education should be a stepping stone to a fulfilling career. Out of thousands of choices, pursuing an education as a nurse will provide me with a fulfilling mission, job security, the opportunity to specialize, endless chance to further my education, and the skills to become an independent adult.

A licensed practical nurse is the field I have chosen to pursue after graduation. The medical field has become a growing community of specialties that can offer multiple wide ranges of settings to practice. LPNs are state-licensed medically trained professionals that provide hands-on patient care for the sick. This includes taking vital signs, giving injections, and dressing wounds. Training requires an accredited educational program that is approximately eighteen months, provided by a community college, and state licensure, awarded after passing the National Council Licensure Examination. Licensed practical nurses work under the direction of physicians. They provide direct care for the injured and elderly and advocate for the people that cannot help themselves. LPNs are direct patient caregivers and ensure people are comfortable and well cared for. For me, this means chances to work with geriatrics (elderly), pediatrics (children), and everything in between from hospitals to walk-in clinics. Being a nurse will provide a fulfilling occupation, allowing me to share compassion and care for other people.

According to Athena Career Academy, the nursing industry has grown rapidly in recent years and is projected to grow even more in the next decade because of longer life expectancies, population growth, and new technologies. As people get older, they will need caretakers, which means a nursing career is also job security. According to SeniorCare.com, the aging population is currently over 50 million and the projected senior population is expected to rise to 83 million by 2050. This also means that a large portion of nurses are also nearing retirement. According to a Vanderbilt University study, the shortage of nurses could reach as high as 500,00 by 2025. A nursing career will equip me with job security for many years to come.

A career in nursing also provides a solid foundation for independence. Whatever my future holds, wherever I go, I will have the ability to support myself financially as a nurse. Schedules are flexible and shifts are variable, including eight and twelve-hour shifts, not just the nine-to-five. A Louisiana state-licensed LPN can also transfer licensure to any other state. Specifically, choosing to pursue LPN licensure means the opportunity to get a degree in a short amount of time, affording myself the beginning of a stable career and time to further my education with online classes to pursue a specialty. This field of education secures independence both financially and in time to pursue further education.

I would like to allow myself time to explore different specialties and further my education while still being able to work full-time. Although Central Louisiana is not a heavily populated area, it still offers doctor’s offices, clinics, urgent care centers, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health, hospices, and outpatient centers. These opportunities would allow time to explore different areas of nursing while remaining close to family and friends while working toward accomplishing larger goals. Travel nursing offers the same career goals but in different locations all over the United States. It is important to me to choose a career that can offer a change of pace and scenery close to home while continuing to fulfill my personal mission of caring for people. Above and beyond this, are chances to practice in many different specialties, including obstetrics (working with pregnant moms), anesthesiology (putting people to sleep for surgery), and hospice (end-of-life care). Essentially, further education after high school is endless in the field of nursing.

My plan to accomplish becoming a nurse is to attend Central Louisiana Technical College and complete the eighteen-month Licensed Practical Nurse program. After completion of the LPN program, I would like to continue online college classes to become a registered nurse while working full-time. This would allow me time to work in different areas of nursing and find the work I am passionate about. Becoming an LPN also allows me to accomplish my goal of doing something every day that I enjoy. If I work at a job I love, maybe I will never work a day in my life.

After spending a day observing multiple different nurses in the medical field as in RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and unit secretaries, I have concluded that becoming an LPN is what I desire to do. Looking at the future now, I see myself becoming an RN. To do it correctly, I plan to take baby steps as in not jumping straight into it. Planning to allow time for all my interests including family and friends while working toward a bigger goal is important to me. From doing one on one patient visits, observing patient care, learning and organizing medicines both oral and intravenous to even doing the dirty work of a CNA (meaning changing sheets, giving baths to the ones in need of help, and feeding the sick) is fulfilling work for me. Hands-on experience is what every high school student should experience before going to college. Spending three days shadowing medical professionals was an eye-opening experience. Hands-on experience with the daily life of different medical field workers, managing their time, meeting the needs of patients, and using the skills they have learned made this senior project a little more interesting. When participating, you get a feeling of what life after college would look like.

As I interviewed Mrs. Paige, an RN at the local Avoyelles Hospital located in Marksville Louisiana, I have put together lots of useful information. From where she was in high school to how she got where she is now. Mrs. Paige recently became an RN. She became an LPN through CLTCC before becoming an RN. I chose to interview Mrs. Paige because she became an RN the exact same way I plan on following my dreams. I had many questions about how the current schooling is. As I asked millions of questions to Mrs. Paige, different conversations came along, and I learned something new from each and every one. According to Mrs. Paige, you could either take the ACCUPLACER test or use your highest ACT score, but your ACT score has to be eighteen or above. The ACCUPLACER test must be passed, but you can retake it as many times as needed at forty dollars each time, and every seven days it’s available to retake. Nursing requires mainly math, biology, and chemistry. Nurses administer medications, and each dosage much be customized to the patient. Math formulas are used to determine how much meds to administer by IV drip, injection, or other methods. Nurses use math to make sure the medication amount is appropriate and that patients do not receive too much or too little. Biology is the study of the body and life, all nurses use this in their daily work life. Biology, chemistry, and math are all requirements to become any type of nurse. Human anatomy, human physiology, and microbiology are also required in nursing school. Licensed practical nurses yearly salary starting off runs about $38,000 a year. At any place, you would be making about sixteen to twenty dollars an hour in hospitals or clinics. Twelve-hour shifts are very common being an LPN. 36 to 40-plus hours a week on different shifts, weekends, mornings, nights, and even holidays are required, according to indeed.com.

Going into the medical field has its share of pros and cons. Suicide is a huge con when it comes to nurses in the medical field. Suicide can be caused by many different things. Earlier this year nursing.org published research on the rate of suicides in nurses in general. Of all the female population, nurses in particular are 23 percent more likely to commit suicide than women in general. According to a nam.edu study, registered nurses are most likely to commit suicide. The most common means of suicide in nurses is overdoses. An overdose is excessive use of any type of drug ending with different types of reactions possible coma, hysteria, mania, or death if not caught in time. Overdoses are very common only because of the easy access to lethal doses of medications. Nurses are very overworked and stressed with anxiety related to emotional situations, complicated patient care, and the amount of work they have to accomplish daily. Many nurses put others before themselves. Most nurse-related suicides are caused by either personal or workplace responsibilities.

Nurses enjoy helping others and putting a smile on everyone’s face, including theirs. Nurses devote themselves to caring for their patients’ wants and needs. Caring for others is my goal in life. Once I complete LPN school, I plan on furthering my education as a registered nurse or maybe even a surgical nurse. Being an LPN is far more than being just a nurse and taking care of everyone, It’s a job that reminds someone daily that they are helping to change lives. Although there are pros and cons to a nursing career, this path fulfills all the goals I have set, including a career with a fulfilling personal mission, job security with opportunities to specialize endless ways to further my education, and the skills to become an independent adult.

Essay on Why Mechanical Engineering Is Important

Mechanical Engineering Kefa Gichana Blaine High School Mechanical Engineering Introduction Engineers are often overlooked as other careers are valued more in modern-day society. To end up productive in any task you must possess a nice course of action procured in you since you have to strategize and stack your cards right. This comparable idea can likewise be executed in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineers help disperse energy by planning and scaling beneficial machines for special use. A Mechanical Engineer esteems information and applies it as thought to structure products from the start with insignificant help. They typically will make key products for big companies to use as they go about their daily work life. Other minor advancements include having adequate adeptness in arranged unsafe situations

The ability to turn nothing into something in a short time stand is essential. Engineers’ main focus is improving a system making it work so others can benefit from it. Engineers must obtain a degree for them to pursue a well-suited career that fits their skills. Bureau of Labor Statistics states that A soon-to-be engineer “needs to go further in their training and accomplish an examination certificate, accepting an advanced education and disseminating developments in which empowers one to assemble a profession”(BLS, n.d). High School courses such as variable-based math and trigonometry: biology, and chemistry are a necessity for simplified engineering. After Highschool, you can finally proceed to take more advanced courses such as; calculus, statistics, and advanced algebra. In college students should consider taking part in taking the right steps in achieving a four-year degree. When all is said and done students can pursue mechanical engineering.

A skilled Mechanical Engineer(ME) is required to offer a permit on the occasion that they are working. The working standards of a mechanical engineer need to be a secure environment that can apply to all workers Economic The development of this field is much lower than expected. From 2014 to 2024, the Bureau of Labor Statistics claims a ten percent increase in workers all around the world. The availability of development in this field has paved the way for mechanical engineers to follow. Effective careers frequently tend to be highly sought after. Regardless of how the steady advancement movement for this particular field is much higher than the customary arranging fields with everything considered, the general population that can stay should be aware of it and remain on their toes with any new indications and latest mechanical improvements in the field(BLS, n.d). The average income for this particular field in Minnesota is around $95,880 consistently starting as of July 2016(BLS, n.d). There are over 200,000 occupations focused on the mechanical building industry, which is an incredibly high number considering what number of individuals get into this field at any secondary school and post-secondary. According to the (SOG); There will be about more than 100,00 mechanical authorities expected to fill in as mechanical planners for the next 10 years. In light of prior improvement, it’s foreseen that work rates in this calling will proceed as previously detected, there’s a massive increase in labor; and workers are becoming more superior in technology.

Current Mechanical designers are dealing with a portion of the world’s most unusual issues. Mechanical Engineers manage fundamental issues like every other field. They will in general spotlight now and again on some proposition issues that are amazingly changing the world at a fantastic rate. Thus, it requires a mechanical designer who can without any help explain issues. Engineers are working on the New and Improved Pneumatic power system. This development Should be conceivable by endeavoring to improve the capability of wind turbines and storing energy. They can similarly utilize Geothermal Vitality to deal with the issues Africans manage and to a wide degree the world in general. Without a doubt comprehended strategies for transportation for short segments. As technology advances, energy sources are becoming less understood techniques for use in poor countries that can’t afford energy. Gas prices are getting out of the handle and are inspiring mechanical engineers to make vehicles made by elective energies. Mechanical Engineers are controlling their inventions for future purposes. Energy-controlled cars will become a thing to use and control in future years.

Ever since I could understand the use of Legos. I’ve been constructing and drawing buildings, toys, and cars I’ve had a strong desire to turn to an engineering field of work from a young age, I figured that assembling simple machines from the start did not require many contributions to work. I enjoy doing mathematics and applying science-based scenarios to real life. I’m looking forward to starting a new path in the mechanical engineering profession. As I see it engineering isn’t tied to having a ton of data secured in your mind, however, rather it’s tied to comprehending straightforward concepts that can be connected to tackle essential standards. I considered mechanical designing as a subject of discussion because of a couple of reasons one of them being I cherish taking part in arranging and the other being it is critical to help enhance thoughts that can improve the earth. Conclusion Mechanical engineering is a broad careeconsiderhoose. It’s a safe career to be in because of the impact it makes on the world. Mechanical Engineers have done so much to this world; they should be put up there with scientists. Mechanical Building as such has given a huge movement in today’s overall population. This causes me to recall a building with different rooms. The building is the genuine movement expected to develop distinctive rooms. If this building isn’t open, the rooms would similarly be nonexistent. If Mechanical Planning wasn’t available, other building divisions would not be blocked off. Taking control of situations when it matters is what defines a person. Being able to withstand diversity and build without any distractions is probably all one could wish for in this life that we live. Mechanical will be the reigning job in the future. Engineers play an important role in society and bring a lot to the table. Every day new advancements are made mostly supervised by a professional mechanical engineer

Essay on Is Mechanical Engineering Hard

Everybody makes a big deal of how challenging it is to find a career path to pursue, I have had the idea that I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer since I was in 4th grade. Ever since I was young I loved playing and building stuff, whether it was building Lego Ninjago sets or playing with trains. I never really knew what occupation those skills would apply to until I learned what my mom did which was mechanical engineering. Once I learned all that she did, I had my eyes set on that career ever since. Throughout middle school, I took different engineering courses involving inventors and coding objects such as robots and racecars. Furthermore, when I came to middle school and high school I started researching the occupation of Mechanical Engineering whenever Mr.Smith would come in and talk and we would look at ohiomeansjobs.com. After doing research I realized being a mechanical engineer would be a great career path to take. As well as, in 8th grade I did a job shadow day at Schaeffler Luk in Wooster. I job shadowed one of their mechanical engineers and loved the whole experience. After that, I knew what I wanted to be and started taking the steps to be able to pursue the career that I wanted to be and be successful at. I want to be a mechanical engineer because of the skills I possess, the annual salary, my interest, the high demand of jobs currently, the great insurance benefits, and realizing how great of a career it is during my research.

Through research, I discovered that to be a mechanical engineer you need to go to college for 4 years to get your bachelor’s degree (Individuals). A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is a standard program at most colleges, but the best by far are UCLA, MIT, Stanford, and Michigan (The Best Colleges for Mechanical Engineering). It has been said that the required skills for this career are active listening, Critical thinking, and mathematics. I believe I possess all these skills. Mechanical Engineering pays about $63,120-$96,390 annually (Individuals). With the pay Increasing annually as you gain more experience. The least I could make is $55,310 and the most I could make is 133,900, it all depends on education level and experience as well as where you are employed (2019 Engineering Salary Statistics). Showing that education is very important in this career and can make a huge difference in salary. A mechanical Engineering technical Job description is that they design power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems (Individuals). With mechanical engineering, 40-60 hours a week are required. These hours can be inside or outside, it all depends on where the job is that day. But most of the work is done in an office. The benefits for a mechanical engineer are great. If I was employed then I certainly would be granted medical, dental, and vision insurance. As well as vacation days, sick leave, holidays off, and many retirement benefits (Individuals). The job placement for mechanical engineering is fairly good, this job is in high demand but to get a job you must have the proper education (Individuals). My goal and the type of impact I want to have with my career is to be able to enjoy my job and find happiness as well as be able to support myself along with my future family.

Overall, mechanical engineering has proven to be a successful and well-off career. With that, I would still have a lot of living expenses as well as other expenses that would be accounted for. My main expense as a mechanical engineer would be housing. Therefore, the best option for housing relies on where my job takes me and where I am employed. If I were to have a job in a major city then I would rent a little apartment near my job for about $2,000-$3,000 a month (Rent Easy, Rest Easy). However, If I lived in a small community or suburbs, I would live in a middle-class house. When it comes to transportation, I would take public transportation such as taxis, busses, and subways which would be about $120 a month (Fares). To avoid car insurance as well as paying for gas. But, If I had a job in a small community with no public transportation available then, I would have to look into purchasing a car or bike. Other expenses would include all bills required to pay and other costs of objects necessary for survival.

In class, we took a personality report. In this report, I got the personality of a “defender.” I wasn’t sure exactly what that meant at first. After reading further I discovered what this personality type was. A defender is someone sensitive, receptive to change, excellent at analytical relationships, kind, hard-working, as well as shy and humble (Defender Personality). I didn’t know what to think of this at first, but after analyzing it, I realized that this is my personality 100%. I realized that the strengths of my personality would accommodate me greatly in this career choice. Some of my most prominent strengths are reliability and patience which would help me in the workplace when I feel angered or when people are annoying or dumb. Another strength that would help me throughout my career is excellent at analytic relationships and hard work (Defender Personality). These skills would help me I would always work hard and be able to achieve promotions and higher-up jobs. Whereas my strengths would build me up to a successful career, my weakness as a defender would give me bumps in the road. These weaknesses being too humble and too introverted around people. These weaknesses could prove to be a burden because if I am too shy in the workplace then that could cause a lack of opportunity for me. As well as being too shy; being too humble would also be a problem (Defender Personality). This is a problem because if I am too humble then I would never take credit for anything then I would never be able to prove myself to corporate to get a promotion or raise.
