Module 5 Assignment: Non-Peer-Reviewed
Source Evaluations
In this assignment, you will evaluate two references related to your potential research problem that have not been peer reviewed, such as an authoritative news article, trade journal, or government report.
Using the same two academic disciplines related to your research problem from your Module 4 Assignment: Peer-Reviewed Source Evaluations, select one reference written from the perspective of each discipline to review. Sources should be recent, meaning they were published in the past ten (10) years.
Formatting Guidelines
All dropbox assignments in PRST 3995 should conform to the following formatting expectations:
Microsoft Word or compatible format
One-inch margins
A 12-point fonts, such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri
Double-spaced text
Appropriate conventions of academic writing, including grammar, syntax, and mechanics
Assignment Requirements
1. Title Page
Include a title page according to the APA formatting guidelines for student papers opens in new window. The title page should include the page number, paper title, your name, university, course number and title, instructor name, and date.
2. Revised Research Problem Statement
Present your revised research problem statement based on the feedback you received on your Module 4 Assignment: Peer-Reviewed Source Evaluations. The research problem statement should be clear, define the scope of the problem, and include context explaining why it is important to investigate the problem. You should include in-text citations from reputable sources to support the claims you make in your problem statement, and the references should be included on a reference page at the end of the assignment.
*Remember, your potential research problem should be the problem you brainstormed in your Module 4 Assignment: Peer-Reviewed Source Evaluations, Research Problem Exploration Module 2 Dropbox Activity, or a new research problem related to your previous coursework. The research problem should not be one of the problems from the collaborative discussion activities, nor should you evaluate an source we have reviewed in the collaborative discussion activities.
3. Evaluation of Non-Peer-Reviewed Source for Discipline 1 (replace the numeral “1” with the name of the discipline)
A. REFERENCE:Provide a full APA-formatted reference of the source before you begin your evaluative review of the source.
B. INTRODUCTION:Provide a broad overview and synopsis of the source, its main points, and its disciplinary perspective. The summary should answer the following questions:
What is the author’s main argument or conclusion?
Which 2-3 insights are most relevant to the problem you are researching?
From which disciplinary perspective is the author viewing the problem, and how did you determine the disciplinary perspective? Remember that the author’s background and credentials, as well as the type of publication (i.e., American Psychological Association or Education section of a newspaper or website) provide clues to the disciplinary perspective).
C. EVALUATION:Provide a detailed evaluation of the source. Critically evaluate the source, including both positive and negative points using the following criteria (refer to the CRAAP Test Worksheet for questions to consider):
Currency (timeliness): How old or new is the information?
Authority (source of information): Who is the author and what are their credentials or areas of expertise?
Accuracy (reliability, validity, & accuracy): What features of the source add to the reliability and accuracy of the information? What strategies does the author use to gather information and what evidence is presented to support the author’s claims?
Purpose (point of view or bias): Why was the information published (to inform, entertain, persuade, etc.)? Is the information presented biased or subjective?
D. RELEVANCE:Explain how the information presented in the source relates to your research problem by answering the following questions:
How does the source relate to your research problem?
Why do you believe the source would be a good source to use for your interdisciplinary research paper?
Which insights from this source would you use in your paper?
4. Evaluation of Non-Peer-Reviewed Source for Discipline 2 (replace the numeral “2” with the name of the discipline)
A. REFERENCE:Provide a full APA-formatted reference of the source before you begin your evaluative review of the source.

5. Data Management Table
One organizational technique that you can use to organize your research is a data management table. Using the example below, create and complete a table for the two sources you reviewed in this assignment. The table columns should include labels for the author and year of publication, the disciplinary perspective, the author’s central point or thesis, and the main insights presented.
6. Reference Page
Include an APA-formatted reference page for the two references you reviewed in this activity, as well as any references you cited in your research problem statement.

DIRECTIONS:
Part 1) Create a  PPT and upload it here (20 pts) – Must also be uploaded as your post to the discussion question.
PART 2) Attach the ppt with the title of your project as the “post” so that your classmates will know what topic they are responding to in the second part of this assignment (5 pts).  Reply to two (2) posts; min. 20 words  – (10 pts); due on the date posted in the discussion question.
Make sure:
– Proofread for typos

The purpose of this paper is to link theoretical/scholarly material about behavi

The purpose of this paper is to link theoretical/scholarly material about behavior change and communication to a “real world” campaign. You will select a campaign of interest to you that used a media channel to reach it’s intended audience. This could include traditional news outlets, the blogosphere, various social media outlets, or some combination of these channels. You will then critique and analyze the case from the theoretical frameworks and perspectives in the scholarly literature you have chosen. Your case study should conclude with a summary of lessons learned from the case and/or any recommendations you have for how the individuals and/or organizations involved could have used behavior change theory more strategically to realize more favorable outcomes (60 points).
Please make sure the body of your case study paper includes all of the following components:
Paper Components:
Introduction: Describes overall purpose of paper (includes description of case for background/context; briefly previews the campaign that will be analyzed and theoretical/scholarly literature that will be used; makes argument for why that area of scholarly literature is best suited to understanding the case).
Literature Review: Summary of theoretical/scholarly literature reviewed for the case (at least 10 sources cited).
Method:  Identifies the type of content analysis that will be conducted and discusses: the content that will be analyzed; provides rationale for content selected; describes how content will be collected; briefly identifies qualitative content analysis as the method of data analysis.
Results: Qualitative content analysis that is clearly guided by the theoretical framework/scholarly literature reviewed for the case (e.g., if you reviewed Social Cognitive theories/principles, you should be analyzing your data to report if and how those principles were used). Findings from analyzed data are written in a narrative/thematic/descriptive format with example quotes interspersed to serve as evidence.
Discussion: Provides comparisons/contrasts to previous literature AND practical lessons learned and/or recommendations you have for how the individuals and/or organizations involved could have used theory to more strategically organize the campaign to realize more favorable outcomes.

Limit the body of your paper to no more15 pages (and 10 pages minimum) double-spaced; in 12-point Times New Roman. This page limit does not include the coversheet and references.  Please know that any work in excess of the page maximum will not be graded. Follow APA style for appendix, citations, table format and your reference list. All imagery and tables should be placed in the appendix at the end of the paper (not included in the page count).

After reading the article attached to this assignment in “Coursework”:
Forgiveness
1) Would you be able to forgive the way the Amish did (base this on their cultural perception of the world and their role in it/their perception of what the world is/their view of “other people”/their interaction with “other people”)?
2) Does this article inspire you? Why or Why not? How?
Your post should be your comments based on the culture (in-group – AMISH) as a whole, forgiving the “others” or “out-group” (ENGLISH) culture.
The “Bystander Effect”
View this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EisZTB4ZQxY) and complete the reading assignments under “Assignments” tab:
1) Give an example of the Bystander Effect that is not in the reading. Feel free to attach a link if necessary.
2) Why is this an important part of the study of group conflict/interpersonal communication?
3) What can be done to avoid this behavior?
4) Do you think that you would “get involved” or become a “bystander”? Why?
1) Complete the exercise by using as many terms from the chapter as possible (you don’t need a Works Cited or in-text citation as I know this is from the textbook).
Build your communication skills further by completing the following activities here or online.
Understanding Your Conflict Script
What conflict script did you learn in your family? Think back to your childhood and adolescence, and try to remember rules for conflict that your family modeled implicitly and principles of conflict that your family explicitly endorsed.
Did people disagree openly with each other?
What was said when disagreements surfaced? Did your parents suggest that it was rude to argue? Did they encourage open discussion of differences? Were there any “rules” for how to argue?
What happened if disagreements were dealt with directly? Was the conflict resolved? What was the climate in the family like after the conflict?
How do you currently reflect your family’s conflict script? Now that you can edit family scripts and author your own, how would you like to deal with conflict?
Identifying Games in Your Communication
Apply what you’ve read about covert conflict to your own life. Describe an instance when you or someone you have a relationship with played each of the following games. What was accomplished by playing each game? Were the real conflicts addressed?

Just a persuasive essay about the treatment of women in the entertainment indust

Just a persuasive essay about the treatment of women in the entertainment industry, citing at least 5 sources (need a reference/works cited page!). Can also include mental health awareness if necessary. Follows a template (attached), so it shouldn’t be too involved. I just need to pass this stupid class. Thanks 🙂
