1. Using Beh

Read the attached PDF scenario and answer the following questions.
1. Using Behavior Analytic Vocabulary, explain the various characteristics of Respondent Conditioning, identifying specific relationships between stimuli and responses and discussing how the elements of time and environment contribute to an organism’s respondent behavior. Next, explain the process used to reverse an established reflexive stimulus-response relationship. Finally, analyze the scenario and discuss each of the elements of Respondent conditioning that you identify.
2. Using course readings and resources for support, describe and define how the operant conditioning paradigm can influence an organism’s behavior. Be sure to reference and describe stimulus response relations and the antecedent-behavior – consequence (three term) contingency. Next, create a hypothetical example that describes a behavioral excess for decrease or a behavioral deficit for increase. In your example, first identify how the behavior may be modified by changing antecedent stimuli. Then, describe how the behavior may be modified by changing consequences.
3. Using Behavior Analytic Vocabulary, explain how Operant Conditioning differs from Respondent Conditioning. Then, explain how different schedules of reinforcement can influence a behavior, with one example for each schedule. Next, choose an example of a behavior and show how each of the five possible differential reinforcement procedures would affect that behavior of an organism. Be sure to discriminate between ‘schedules of reinforcement’ and ‘differential reinforcement.’

For this assignment, you will provide a long-answer essay response to each of the questions below. For each question, you are encouraged to use the peer-reviewed resources provided throughout the units to support your responses. Please do not copy and paste the whole question into the document. Rather, provide the question number (1-4) and a brief heading that correlates with each section of the grading rubric. (Example: 1. Applied Perspectives)
Using Figure 1.3 (Improving people’s quality of life from A to Z) in Chapter 1 of Cooper et al. (2020) choose three different areas of practice where applied behavior analysis might be an appropriate and effective approach to improving quality of life in real world settings. For each area chosen, create a brief hypothetical scenario that illustrates a behavior change that would improve quality of life for an individual in a real world setting. For each scenario, use your course resources and readings to develop at least five supporting points that justify your assertion that the scenario represents applying the understanding of the science of human behavior to understand and improve socially significant behaviors in real-world settings.
Listen to the scenario: Cindy and the Magician (transcript) and complete the following:

Instructions for creating Graphic Displays and Discussions of Potential Outcomes: READ THE DOCUMENT UPLOADED AND ALL READINGS CITED INSIDE THE DOCUMENT TO HELP YOU WITH PART 7 OF THIS ASSIGMENT, THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE ADDED TO THE DOCUMENT UPLOADED SO PLEASE FOLLOW DIRECTIONS
Grading Rubric
Graphs. All graphs are titled, include axis labels, and depict all measured relevant behaviors. (28 points)
Outcomes. For each outcome, include the following: (include at least 3 outcomes; 72 points total)
Describe outcome accurately. (8 points for each outcome)
Interpret outcome appropriately. (8 points for each outcome)
Next Steps: describe a potential course of action given the outcome. (8 points for each outcome)
Graphic Display and Discussion of Potential Outcomes (1-3 pages including graphs)
In this section, you will present several potential outcome scenarios (minimum 3). That is, given what is known about the procedure(s) you propose to implement and given your understanding of behavior principles, you will present a range of potential outcomes. You should include all outcomes that could reasonably be expected to occur. Among these will, of course, be the planned outcomes – in most cases, a successful intervention. However, behavior-change efforts often do not unfold as planned and sometimes unintended outcomes are encountered. The ability to predict and plan for such situations is an important clinical skill. So, in this section, you should consider all reasonably possible outcomes.
It may be helpful to present a table of potential outcomes.
Describe each potential outcome under separate headings (e.g., Outcome 1: Successful Intervention, etc.).
Provide a graphic display, table, or other appropriate visual representation of the outcome.
This display should represent – generally – the outcome you are attempting to describe. Do not include extra variability or detail unless they are essential to the analysis (e.g., if you are describing different within-condition patterns, it will be necessary to use sufficient detail to represent those patterns).
Provide a brief description of the outcome (e.g., “this graph shows an increase in X over baseline rates…”).
Provide interpretive comments (e.g., “these results would suggest that Y functioned as reinforcement for X during intervention phases…”). Were your analytic efforts sufficient to permit you to determine a relation between the IV and the DV or must your interpretations be more cautious/suggestive? Would these results make sense conceptually (in terms of basic principles of behavior)?
Describe a potential course of action given the outcome. Would you continue the procedure? Program for generalization?  Stop the intervention and try something else?
