The lifetime appointment of Supreme Court Justices in the United States has been

The lifetime appointment of Supreme Court Justices in the United States has been a subject of significant debate. While the Constitution doesn’t explicitly promise “lifetime appointments,” it does state that judges shall hold office during “good behavior” in modern times a Justice could sit on the Court for 30 or more years and affect the balance of liberal and conservative views. Should they be given limited terms and if so, how long and can they be reappointed? Why should we change or stay the same?

We must take care of our Earth, so new amendments addressing environmental protections should be added to the Constitution. Taking Oceanography opened my eyes to how poorly we are treating our planet. The amount of pollution in the air and the ocean is awful, and we should be ashamed of ourselves as humans.
An amendment dedicated to conserving natural resources would ensure we prioritize protecting forests, waterways, and the wildlife. This would help maintain biodiversity and ecosystems for future generations. Deforestation kills wildlife habitats. “Each year, Earth loses about 36 million acres of forest to deforestation—an area about the size of the state of New York.” (Conserving Earth – National Geographic Society) It also emits greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, contributing to Global Warming. “Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet’s overall temperature.” (Global Warming – Nation Geographic Society) Our planet is heating up, and life on Earth will not last if it continues.
Constitutional Amendments committed to preserving our Earth could mandate actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy sources. This would give our government the support it needs to tackle climate change head-on and keep up the effort and action against climate change.
