Persuasive Essay about Self

Why I should be school captain

I’m sure that most of you know my name but for those who do not know it is Philip, I am 11 years of age and am intelligent, honest, and sympathetic, I have the vision to better the school by 2020, but most importantly I would like to get this out of the way whatever you do not listen to my opponents because they are simply liars and they will do all they can to get the golden badge of school captain. Anyway here are 3 reasons why I should be a school leader, wait for no-no why I must be, no no no why I have to be a school leader *much better*.

Number 1: My Smarts. What I mean by this is that I am most intelligent as have been included in the Maths Talent Quest which is a big event held here in Victoria that brings children as far as Queensland to compete in a big maths event. Being smart also means that I am quite wise meaning I can make good choices to have a great impact on the school for the better, I should also mention that I have been through a lot of things not necessarily good things which also gives me the skill of resilience which if I google it say that it means: resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

Number 2. One of the qualities I have is honesty. Just simply ask one of the teachers, and they will say “Yes Philip is pretty honest”.I also have more proof. A couple of years my friends and I on Saturday school were caught in a fight with some year 7s who were bullying us, eventually, one of my friends had enough and punched one of the kids. The teacher caught us and I had to explain everything that happened and if I lied I’d be blamed two even though I didn’t do anything, but I told the truth instead of being sneaky and quickly getting away with it.

Number 3: Another one of my qualities is empathy, for those who do not know what empathy means it is to feel what another person is feeling say yes you, are feeling say mad I’ll have all most alien-like abilities, and Yes I might be from area 51 and a rogue alien. But I’ll be able to help _______________ and since I have been through a lot lately and beforehand I will be able to understand __________________ so I guess you could say I also have the quality of kindness but I understand that none of you guys really want to be here *And neither do I*.

Number 4: Organisational skills. I am a very organized person and that’s why I brought along my latest school report which shows here that I am on time with homework and I am very organized for example a lot of these other people that are going to school captain get there reading a book if they teacher says that it’s reading then they will realize that they need a pencil then a ruler and then a rubber, but with me I get everything organized at the start of the day. And I am pretty good at managing people which is also listed on my school report.

I have a vision for 2020 besides the usually cleaner toilets more rubbish bins better taps to fix school property. I instead have the vision to improve the school internally. Put your hand up if you still get bulled or annoyed by others, come don’t be shy. That is still a staggering number of people and we have a decent anti-bullying movement but that’s still not enough. Also how often do you guys get into an argument? Yeah, about 1 to 4 times a week. For how long roughly I’d say about 15 minutes, It should actually be 3 minutes, once a week. So yeah the school still needs a lot of fixing.

As my speech slowly comes to an end I should remind you not to listen to any one of these ‘Future Leaders’ but instead take on board what they’re saying just keep in mind they could be liars *filthy liars*. And also remember to choose wisely someone that you personally think can lead our school. You will hear. I promise to lead the leader of the school in a good way, I promise to lead the leader of the school in a good way, I promise to lead the leader of the school in a good way. But remember they said they promise not I will. Put your hand up if a friend promised you something but it never happened. Yep almost everyone. But if they say. I WILL. Then that is a different story then that’s nothing small that is a big lie and I was talking about myself being honest so you can trust me when I say. I WILL BE THE GREATEST LEADER OF ST THERESA’ PRIMARY SCHOOL ALBION AND I WILL LEAD THE SCHOOL WITH GREAT RESPONSIBILITY AND PRIDE. I WILL BE A GREAT SCHOOL CAPTAIN. Please vote for me every vote counts and if you vote for me free Zooper Doopers! Which I’ll be selling at lunch.

Memoir about Me Essay

The global pandemic enabled me to see how businesses adapted to face the new challenges of Covid-19 and how their main goal was survival. One example is John Lewis, which had to permanently close eight of its department stores so that they did not operate at a loss and also to recover financially from the Coronavirus pandemic. When reading about what happened to John Lewis, it made me want to read more about how Covid-19 had an impact on other markets such as the clothing industry. Moreover, when listening to Rishi Sunak’s Budget Statement, allowed me to see the many ways the government is helping businesses that are underperforming to boost their revenue and profits. For instance, the Chancellor announced the £4.6 billion grant and the reduction in the cooperation tax to support businesses. This means that the profits for businesses will rise which will lead to positive growth in the economy since the Covid-19 pandemic.

When researching business, I discovered that there are many types of management styles but the one that stood out to me was the democratic management style where employees can give their opinion and feedback on the decisions being made as a business. For example, at John Lewis, all employees are considered partners. Being partners means that they have an input into the decisions being made. I think this is important so that businesses can see what they can do to be more productive and efficient. Added to that, John Lewis put their staff’s well-being first and decided to delay opening their stores when businesses started to reopen. This shows that they care for their staff which makes them feel valued which boosts their motivation to help improve their business and as a result, they offer great quality products and excellent service to their customers.

At a taster day at Kingston University, I found human resource management quite intriguing because it explained how it helps the business in many ways including in administration and management. I also learned that by taking this course at university, there would be good job opportunities for me. Over the two years of studying A-levels, I have learned how to work under pressure and be organized. Studying A-Level economics supported my interest in business when learning about business behavior and markets. Learning about the different market structures I saw how they were different in terms of what degree of power they had. The concept of game theory was interesting as I learned that businesses can compete in many ways in terms of price and non-price factors. I would like to study business management as I would gain a wider understanding of all areas of business such as marketing and people, finance and management rather than just focusing on the economy.

During my work experience at Osterley Park Hotel, in administration, I learned how to interact with customers, work independently and work under pressure. I was able to have an insight into what it’s like to be in the workplace and how to cope with the workload. The lockdown was a benefit for me as I was able to develop my research skills, familiarised myself with using Google Classroom and using live platforms such as Zoom to communicate with others, and also overcome any technical issues I may have encountered. Completing a MOOC course on business management with Kings College, I learned why and how profits are essential for a business. By doing this course, I enhanced my knowledge and understanding of businesses and management.

Going to university means that I will get the chance to change as a person, meet new people, and take more responsibility and I feel that I am ready for that challenge. I hope my future studies in business at university will give me a different perspective on the business world. I believe that I am ready for university and I really look forward to seeing where this degree will take me in the future.

I Am ‘Colorful’ That’s Who I Am

Color permeates all aspects of our lives. It shapes how we perceive the world, it’s an essential part of our identity, and it benefits our health and mind. The dark shades of black and grey, the muck of bleakness was how I perceived my colorful life. I battled with this demon in some way or other since I was conceived. My entrance into this world was not grand by any standards. I exited the womb enveloped in a slimy grey veil, no rosy pink cherub cheeks or luscious red lips like most new born babies. My life began as a melancholy baby and progressed to different and more complicated phases, unknowingly adopting the mask of bright beautiful colors that we learn to wear in order to navigate the world.

As I was growing up, it dawned on me that my complex mind is like a party I was invited to, but I do not know who sent the invitation. My perception of red, blue, yellow and green differed from my friend’s perception of the same colors. I distanced myself from yellow as it forced me to be bright and cheerful, red signified immense danger and I felt myself drowning in the blue depths of the ocean. I had begun to be apprehensive about what lay in wait for me. At class parties the conversation becomes hushed around me as I move about the room. I found the door, but could not navigate my way to the exit point. None of the voices in my head or my various anxieties have ever been gracious hosts. Yet, the invitation remains, unavoidable and persistent.

For as long as I can remember events had not acted in my favor. As a teenager the worst part of being at the mercy of my own mind, especially when that mind can only comprehend dark, bleak colors such as black and grey. These colors reinforce the fact that I am flawed. I am imperfect. There is something inherently wrong with me. I have always had difficulty seeing through rose-colored glasses. Maybe that’s my illness talking or maybe not. I’ll never know for sure.

Maybe my glasses are extra thick because of what my brain does to me, which by the way, is not my choice. I did not choose grey and black as my primary colors as compared to red, blue, yellow and green. Maybe my glasses have smudges on them making it more difficult to see the blessings in my life.

I know there is no cure for my mental illness. This colorful world doesn’t change; I need to change within it. Now I look beyond the greys and blacks and consume all the colors of the rainbow. There will always be a tinge of darkness lurking in the shadows or whispers but for me I am colorful and that is all that matters.

How My Childhood Shaped Me into Who I Am Today

When I was a child, there were a lot of interesting things about physical cognitive and social life that enriched my childhood time and shaped my personality to make me who I am.

Sleep was an important part of my childhood day. In order to make me keep energetic, my parents arranged a ‘going to bed’ routine for me. According to my mother, at about 8:30 pm she would urge me to go to bed and my time to fall asleep was always before 9:00 pm. At least 11 hours of sleep I think is enough. Then I didn’t seem to sleepwalk, because my mother didn’t mention it to me. I guess the age of kindergarten in China is different from that in America. So, I went to kindergarten when I was about 3 or 4 years old. In my memory, I went to bed at 8:30 pm and got up in the morning at about 7:30 am and my father would take me to the kindergarten. I have a toy bear that I took to bed with me every night; I still have that toy bear at my parents’ house. It was usually not easy for me to fall asleep on my own. My favorite toy was the toy bear that I took to bed with me every night; I really liked this toy bear because it was very soft and I thought it was one of the most important things that brought me a sense of security when I was a child. My favorite story was the Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves; my mother read this story to me and it attracted me deeply because of the amazing success of the episode in the story. I think this is how I learn the language, from my ‘own’ language to listening to my parents’ language slowly to learning how to speak. I totally agree with the development of the language Santrock says in his book. I also really loved playing outside, especially in summers. I loved playing water and climbing the mountains with my friends, and the outside world was always fascinating for me. Although I was attracted by many new things around me every day, I had one thing that I wanted to do over and over again, which is reading. According to my parents, I always wanted to pick up every book I saw when I was a kid in spite of the fact that there were many contents, I could not understand at all. Even it was a thick, heavy dictionary, I wanted to open it. My parents say I always try to read it and act like an adult.

In the aspect of social learning, I was predominantly happy; according to my parents, I often smiled and also laughed a lot when I was in kindergarten so many teachers liked me. In the aspect of approach/ withdrawal, I was willing to meet new people and situations instead of being reluctant; when my parents took me to the department store when I was little, I smiled at the sales staff and when they gave me small toys I took without hesitation. In the aspect of rhythmicity, I had much rhythmicity regarding my biological junctions; my mother said I had very regular eating, sleeping and going to toilet times. In the aspect of adaptability, I could be ready to accept changes in routine. I would say I did pretty well on all three emotional development. My closest friends were the children living in the same building with my family; we lived very close so we played most of the time in my childhood. We loved playing hide-and-seek game and we played it every time we were together. My friends were all extraverted like me and they had average heights and weights. They were ‘the only child’ in their family and they grew up in their complete family without parent divorce or other things. They were different from me in the aspect of facial looks and detailed personalities. For example, one of my friends was outgoing but he loved video games rather than reading. In spite of the differences, we were still friends at present.

My parents divorced when I was 12, and I followed my mother. Then my mother was an architect, so she often worked late. Before I woke up in the morning, my mother went to work. At night, my mother didn’t come back until I went to bed. 365 days a year, my mother and I can only meet each other on the weekend. Because I can’t cook, I usually eat in restaurants. I often have several boxes of instant noodles in my house. I have all kinds of flavors, which makes me feel like vomiting when I smell them now. My mother is a very optimistic person. Her way of parenting for me is totally the mode of free breeding. I wouldn’t say is neglectful parenting or indulgent parenting. I would say something between neglectful parenting and indulgent parenting, I call it free breeding. Of course, but she will pay attention to ‘free breeding’ rather than ‘indulge’. And she treats me as an adult completely. I make my own decisions no matter what the big or small things are. She just tells me something you can’t do.

This is a very dangerous way of parenting, which leads me to explore many detours in my life. But I would also say that’s how life shapes me into who am I today.

Essay about Music in My Life

Music is a thing for connection. If the song is sad, I can relate to it, and if it is happy, it can put me in an even better mood or cheer me up. A genuine song is hardly just words and is meaningless; it has significance, and there are meanings behind the words surrounded by melodic sounds. Like a heart, music is something I can not live without. It has been a part of my life since forever and a part of humanity since the beginning of time.

Growing up, I learned to play a variety of instruments – piano, guitar, clarinet, and ukulele. This has allowed me to truly appreciate the time and effort it takes to create music for others to enjoy. I had to put a lot of effort into learning music, but it was always worth it in the end as hearing yourself play these tunes is absolutely incredible. The feeling of accomplishment, the smile that covers my face is something I would not be able to live without. Everyone needs that positive feeling in their life to contrast all the negative ones. It seems like a chain reaction. As you listen to music, you want to learn it, and as people listen to your music, they want to learn it too. It is evident how music connects everyone together.

And what is so incredible about music is the way it inspires not only me but everyone around the world. In my case and others, it inspires us to live life a touch deeper. Why else would so many of us sing loudly and terribly in a car with our friends? I often tune into shows like The Voice or look up to my favorite singers like Beyonce because I marvel at their musical talent. I know for a fact that many others do this too, they listen in hopes of being like them someday. As I write, I listen to music. Music lights this creative spark in me that influences different feelings and emotions to set the tone of my writing. It lets my thoughts transfer over onto the page like a river flow.

We all have those days where Netflix calls to you and that whole tub of ice cream is suddenly sitting in your lap. Studying is the last thing I would ever want to do. But when I actually need to focus and get some work done, I can’t imagine doing it without music to keep me on track. Whether it’s any of Shawn Mendes’s albums, early 2000s throwback music, Khalid’s Free Spirit album, or any song you like, this creative endeavor will always be there to help bear the weight of our educational ones.

In the same way, music keeps me grounded. We all have off days now and then. Those days when stress seems to take over our minds and bodies. By taking a break and playing some music, or even doing my homework with some music in the background, it has this astonishing ability to keep me calm and grounded. After having a long day, one of the first things I will do as soon as I get home is listen to some of my favorite songs. It calms my mind, brings me to the present, and keeps me grounded.

The experience of going to concerts is genuinely unforgettable. Hearing the songs being played in person and connecting with those around me is one of the most incredible sensations. Being at concerts has taught me to let loose and live freely. The numerous times, when I have screamed the lyrics to a song at the top of my lungs without a care in the world, were times I would now never regret.

Can music help us discover things about ourselves that we might not otherwise recognize? It has provided me with motivation and self-confidence and helped me develop this positive self-identity. Of course, my music tastes have changed over time, but this just shows how I have changed as well. We all go through phases such as quiet, indie rock, or rebellious as we grow up, but that’s just the path to finding your true identity. Without music, I wouldn’t know who I am. Music is not just there. It is a part of me, something you can’t take away.

Essay about My Favourite Sport, American Football

The American game of football was invented on August 20th, 1920 in Ohio, Canton. The man who came up with the idea of football was non otherwise known as Walter Camp, he was known as the father of football and played as a halfback in the time he played football, he came up with the idea to play with a leather ball, and the positions there are today. In football, you are required to wear a helmet to protect your head from collisions with others. Helmets and pads have also transformed over the years to keep the players as safe as they can while playing the sport they love. Football also is a very dangerous sport, many concussions and head injuries come from the sport from bashing heads together and getting thrown everywhere. There are also many knee injuries and lower body problems among players, particularly due to low tackles from opposite players. The game of football is the most watched sport in America, the game is exciting and physical.

Football can bring people together, but why would the game of football be the most watched game in America, what is so cool about the sport that millions of people would want to watch? Football is watched from homes to bars to about anywhere. Football is not the only game being played while being watched many people bet money and play fantasy football to try to win and make money off the teams they pick. Football players can also make a living off the sport they play, many teams pay for players to come to play for their NFL team and sign them to a contract for a certain amount of money for a certain amount of years. Teams will pay from a million to a hundred million dollars depending on how good the player is and how he will benefit the team. When it comes to watching football, many friends and family gather together to watch their team play and watch it together on a Sunday or Saturday night.

Football can be a way for many people to excel in life. Many people who play football can get a scholarship to a college and get a full ride so they can also focus on school and sports. People are always looking for new people to recruit for their football team, many players can be very good this week but will play badly next week and will need a substitute player to play for them. Many people are practicing every day to try to be that player that makes it to the NFL league or college league, the game of football is a very competitive game to try to get into. Many people only focus on football and believe that is the only way for them to succeed in life since they aren’t as good at school as they are in football, many rely on football to take them places and help them make money since they are good at what they do.

People from all over the world watch football. It is proven that about 19.3 million people tune in to watch football every week. Every year there is a final tournament that has each team from the NFL play and tries to win, many know that the final game of the year is called the Super Bowl. Each year, the Super Bowl has around 99.9 million people tune in to watch the game from all around the world. Most people are watching from the United States, but many people are watching from the UK to China. People love the game and will tune in to watch a game that is not even played by their home team, they just love the game itself. Football will bring families and friends together, as I stated before, but football also has families competing against each other to watch their team beat the other team.

Football is a way of life for many players from the NFL to the college league. Many players wake up and play football all day every day because that’s what they love to do. If someone is that devoted to football, they will excel in every way possible as a player and soon become a professional player. The NFL has many people playing, but only has the best of the best from the states to nations playing in the game, and is awesome to watch them go against each other and play the American game. The NFL has players who are 6′ to 6’11, that’s huge, they are also not skinny guys, they are huge muscled big men who are trained to take down other massive men who are trained to do what they need to do, so it is an awesome game to watch.

Some facts about football. The field of each football field is 100 yards long and 160 feet wide. There are also two 20-yard end zones on each end of the field but does not count as the actual 100-yard field. There are 4 quarters each game, counting halftime in between the four quarters. There are 32 NFL teams, all NFL teams are manufactured in Ohio, and all players are required to wear shoulder, knee, and back pads. Each NFL player during the rookie year makes around $420,000 a year, and finally, there are huddles before each play so the opposite team does not know what the offense is about to do.

Personally, I have been playing football for around 4 years. I loved each game. I play and love the game itself. I do believe that football is a very competitive and rough sport to play, I have been injured quite a bit from playing the sport, but that’s what it’s all about. Football is definitely my favorite sport. I really love this game. I love my teammates that I play with because if I didn’t have one of them on the field we would be playing a whole different type of game, each position is a very important part of the game. I would suggest everyone try this sport at least once because this game can change your life. I love everything about it and can’t wait to see where I will go in the future.

Personal Self Assessment: Reflective Essay

Firstly, in this report, I will be exploring my personal self-assessment. Secondly, I will be drawing on my skills and skills that I need to develop to allow improvements to be made for personal development and my professional setting. Then during this report, I will be highlighting my reason for higher education study and how this will develop and enhance my future pathway, then finally I will be reflecting on my practice using Gibbs and Kolb’s reflection and my own reflective triangle.

Self-assessment

Exploring my self-assessment the area I would like to touch on is communication as this is paramount to my practice because, on a daily basis, I will be communicating and liaising with students that have additional needs for example autism, as well as being able to communicate with internal staff and external staff, then being able liaise using appropriate language and communication and with parents/careers about their own children. The struggle that we have using communication, jobs are not done quickly enough by external staff, and we are then having to chase jobs up, it can become very frustrating to the lack of communication from peers and very tough to have those difficult conversations with parents/careers, it can become challenging but I pride myself in this area as it’s such a difficult job. Communication is a skill I feel really exceed in. I chose communication as my self-assessment because there can be many positives but also many negatives, through self-assessment I can find these negatives and find out where and what improvements need to be made.

Own skills

I have chosen 2 skills that I feel I am good at and 2 skills I feel need improvement. Firstly, I have chosen communication and my rapport with students. These are 2 skills I feel I am very good at. As I mentioned in the self-assessment, communication is something I pride myself in, and feel within my work role communication is vital. This is a skill I feel I have improved on over the years but it’s an area I am confident in, if there are any concerns, commination with parents, safeguarding, reports, incidents, achievements, etc. I know I will always do the right thing in my role to communicate with the appropriate person. I believe that communication is an essential skill for workers, effective communication will make workers’ roles work. It can help with team building, and the growth of a team/individual, improves productivity, resolves problems, and engages and it enhances skills. ‘Communication skills are consistently one of the most valued skill sets sought by employers. Zeng, H (2013). One skill I strongly believe is essential in a learning environment is my rapport with students. My ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils creates a safe learning environment for them to achieve their potential. Within an SEN setting, my rapport with pupils is integral and a trusting relationship helps them to regulate their own behavior and encourages them to understand their feelings. ‘Positive learning environment enhances students’ motivation. Student-teacher rapport is a way of building a positive classroom environment’. Arslan, A (2018). Secondly, the 2 skills I have chosen for improvement are knowledge and confidence. I definitely feel the need to improve my knowledge, working in an SEN setting covers such a range of additional needs so my knowledge will always be increasing and my understanding of differentiation and support required will continue to develop, expanding my knowledge is something that will keep happening day in and day out, as a school setting we use a program called ‘Edu care’ this helps us to develop knowledge in certain areas for example, autism, anxiety, challenging behavior, etc. This also links in with why I am studying for a foundation degree. Confidence is something I feel I need to improve on, I understand that if I build my confidence in my work setting it will help me be successful and help me to achieve more within my role. I am more than confident to stand up in front of the class and teach an activity but making decisions and asking questions to help me to higher members of staff is something I second guess myself in. This is a working progress since working at Mowbray School I can feel my confidence each day improving.

Own reasons for doing the foundation degree

There are many different reasons why I want to do my foundation degree. Firstly, I would like to further my knowledge and my skills working in my setting, I work in an SEN School and I thrive from working there, it is a passion of mine and I would really love to become a teacher within the special educational needs setting, I have overcome and achieved so much in life, traveling America, working/living in Australia, volunteering, swim teacher and many more adventures and achievements I feel privileged to work in such an amazing school and this is why I want to progress in my position and get the degree I have always wanted. I chose the Foundation Degree course as it seemed to be perfect for me and my future, I liked that we get a tutor to help us get through the course, I seem to learn better through contact and listening rather than through an online course with no tutor, everything that is involved within in this degree is everything that I want to learn to progress, further my knowledge and to achieve the degree, after this degree, I would like to go on to do my level 6.

Use of reflection

Reflection is so important for everyone; reflectiveness helps you to develop your skills and helps you to improve. It’s all about questioning what we do, why we do it, and if there is another/better way. Graham Gibbs (1988) believes that everyone learns better through experience, Gibbs made a ‘Gibbs Reflective Cycle’ Gibbs, G (1988) which has 6 different stages –

  • Description of the experience
  • Feelings and thoughts about the experience
  • Evaluation of the experience, both good and bad
  • Analysis to make sense of the situation
  • Conclusion about what you learned and what you could have done differently
  • Action plan for how you would deal with similar situations in the future, or general changes you might find appropriate. Gibbs, G (1988)

These 6 stages are a great way to work through an experience, this can either be individual or group work. It helps people look at the positive and negative influences, whereas David Allen Kolb (1974) also has a reflective cycle that only has 4 stages this is referred to as ‘experimental learning’ Kolb, D (1974). The 4 stages are –

  • Concrete experience – Describe what you see, how you feel, and what you think.
  • Reflective observation – What worked, what failed, why did the situation arise and why did others and I act the way we did?
  • Abstract Conceptualisation – What could I have done better or improved?
  • Active experimentation – Take your own reflection and thoughts, and see what you can improve on. Some improvements will work, some won’t so if that is the case you use the cycle again.

I think Kolb’s and Gibb’s learning cycles are very similar, they both help to achieve positive outcomes and help people to reflect on their practice.

In my setting to help us reflect on the different courses we do and achieve we use a ‘reflective triangle’ This reflection tool is to see if we are implementing the knowledge gained from a course in day-to-day practice, it helps us to look back at key points here is an example of our ‘reflection triangles’

I find these reflection tools very useful, it helps me to remember what I have learned and also how I can improve and use this in my setting, it’s good to look back at my ‘reflection triangles’ to help me reflect on what I have learned.

My Cultural Identity: Essay

In my hometown life of more than ten years, Ju culture has permeated my life from all aspects. Ju culture, which has an awfully long history and has lasted for thousands of years, has influenced and shaped generations of people in my hometown. There is no doubt that my parents and almost all other elders are also the inheritors of Ju culture, and they have unconsciously carved Ju culture into my genes. To be an inheritor of Ju culture is my cultural identity, which affects my daily etiquette, the way of communication, and the choice of daily activities.

Firstly, Ju culture shapes my etiquette in daily life and makes me reflect on our unique etiquette all the time. When I was an ignorant child, my family told me one myth after another about etiquette prevailing in our local area, sowing the seeds of etiquette for me when I was young. Then as I grew older, I learned the popular historical stories about etiquette in the bright history of Ju City, which also made me yearn for etiquette. Compared with words and deeds, what has a more profound influence on me is the example teaching of the individuals around me. They have deeply rooted the etiquette of Ju culture in my heart with their practical life. For example, expressing gratitude to other people, as one of our most basic politeness, is my consistent etiquette from childhood to adulthood. Moreover, as a shy child in the past time, having to say hello to the people I know was my most fearful etiquette, but I must insist on it. In addition, it is required that the elders should be in order at any time and on any occasion. This is the etiquette that I do not need others to emphasize.

Besides, Ju culture also has determined the way I interact with others to a great extent, which makes me pleasure to help others and think about others. In my hometown, my culture not only emphasizes the most significant etiquette issues, especially in the aspect of family relations, but also the communication methods for other people who make daily intercourse. It is like that neighborhood is a relationship that is particularly emphasized in my cultural cognition. Since I was a child, I heard the saying that distant relatives were not as good as neighbors. People around me stressed it over and over again. I also had to know how my elders dealt with neighborhood relations and community relations and learned how to help others and think for others. When I was a kid, because my parents were busy working, I spent most of my time in my grandmother’s house. Their community had a large number of elderly people of similar ages. Therefore, they got along with each other like brothers and sisters. When a family encountered problems, all people helped each other, which constituted one of the warmest memories of my childhood. Our community also had good family relations. We had some community parties and activities. What impressed me most is that my parents considered it for others and even welcomed neighbors to my garden for appreciation and playing. This had a profound impact on my communication with people. In my college life, I treat my roommates as relatives, and I am ready to help them and think about problems from their perspective. And that’s why I always put myself in the social and daily activities of our dormitories, and I always aspire to build a deeper, family-like friendship with them than ordinary friends. In fact, our roommates are more closely related than several dormitories. Mutual helping and mutual understanding have become our habit.

What is more, as an inheritor of Ju culture, my cultural identity plays a significant role in the selection of daily activities. My cultural identity makes me attach great importance to whether I create value for others in daily life, or whether I have made others’ life add new color and warmth. I remember clearly that in my 7-year-old, 2008, a huge earthquake occurred in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, China. Local people in my hometown exhausted their best efforts to help the people affected by the disaster. Ten rural villagers even drove more than 3000 kilometers in agricultural tricycles to the disaster area for rescue. These examples of Ju culture were deeply rooted in my heart, so I was determined to devote my strength to the public. In middle school age, I would spend time in the holidays visiting the groups in need of help and care and sending them warmth and joy. Then, after I entered college school, when I have free weekend time, I don’t choose to spend like most college students through entertainment activities like shopping and playing games, but instead, I participate in volunteer activities, helping others through my efforts. What influences me most is that I have participated in the Charity 100 activity for two consecutive years since my freshman year as a college student. It is an activity for a volunteer to donate warmth and love to children in remote and poor mountainous areas of China through fund-raising. I also met a large number of friends with the same ideals in the process. This is caused by the education and edification of Ju culture I received since I was a child. In the future, I hope I can carry out more meaningful daily activities on the premise of the cultural identity of the inheritors of Ju culture.

In a word, as a member of the inheritor of Ju culture, Ju culture has deeply influenced me in my growth process, and my behavior is largely determined by the subtle influence of Ju culture. The etiquette I follow in my life, the way I communicate with others, and the daily activities I choose are all influenced by etiquette, helping others, and being considerate that the Ju culture I received from childhood emphasizes. This kind of cultural identity has already become an integral part of my life. In the long days to come, it will continue to accompany me and blend with other cultures I accept to make my life bear more fruitful results.
