The estimated number of new cancer cases in North America shows the high probability of having the disease Canada and the US. For example, Canada had approximately 28,026 new breast cancer cases, representing 10% of the continent (“Cancer today”, 2020). It is clear that 90% of new cases of breast cancer diagnosis in the North American area have been seen in the US (“Cancer today”, 2020). That means approximately 253,465 people reported to be identified with the disease as shown in Figure 1 below (“Cancer today”, 2020). All this data is as of 2020, provided by International Agency for Research on Cancer. Other countries in North American take only 0.04% of the total new infection for cancerous diseases (“Cancer today”, 2020). This is general data for all females, irrespective of their age.

The mortality rate from breast cancer disease is different in various countries. In Canada, for instance, the estimated age-standardized mortality rate is 12.6. when it comes to a country such as India, the rate is 13.3 for both sexes, all ages (“Cancer today”, 2020). From the trends in this data, it is clear that breast cancer is a major issue in North America and other areas of the world (Heidari, 2018). Canada and US are frequently facing new breast cancer cases, making the disease the top killer in the countries (Lamond & Shapiro, 2020). The trend shows that the world expects cancer diagnosis cases to keep increasing as mortality rates. Therefore, there is a need to combat the issue since it significantly risks health and lives.
