Teaching is hard work, and some teachers will never be better than mediocre people. They only pose minimum requirements, nothing more. However, excellent teachers work tirelessly to create a challenging training environment for their students. Good teaching seems to have nothing to do with our knowledge and skills but with our attitude toward students, our subjects, and our work. Although this list is certainly not exhaustive, I have summarized some of the most important characteristics of what I believe to be a good teacher, regardless of the age of the student.

Firstly, a good teacher respects his students. In a classroom of excellent teachers, everyone’s ideas and opinions are valued. Students can express their feelings confidently and learn to respect and listen to others. Such a teacher creates a warm learning environment for all students.

Moreover, a good teacher will create a sense of community and belonging in the classroom. Mutual respect among teachers in the classroom provides a supportive and collaborative environment. In this small community, there are rules to follow and work to be done. Every student knows that he is an important and inseparable part of the team. A good teacher will let students know that they can trust not only her but the entire class as well.

Good teachers are enthusiastic, approachable, enthusiastic, and caring. Not only can students communicate with this person, but everyone on campus can also communicate with this person. Students know that they can ask the teacher for help with any questions or concerns, and they can even share interesting stories. Excellent teachers have good listening skills and will take time out of their busy schedules to serve those in need. If the teacher had a bad day, no one would know: the teacher left his personal luggage outside the school gate.

A good teacher has high hopes for all students. The teacher found that his expectations of the students greatly affected their performance; he knew that the students would usually help the teacher more or less according to his expectations.

In addition, a great teacher has his own enthusiasm for learning and uses his enthusiasm for education and course materials to motivate students. He constantly renews his identity as a professional and is committed to providing students with the highest quality education. This teacher is not afraid of learning new teaching strategies or incorporating new technologies into the curriculum, he always seems to be willing to share what he has learned with his classmates.

A great teacher is a skilled leader. Unlike administrative leaders, effective teachers focus on joint decision-making and teamwork, as well as community building. This great teacher conveyed this sense of leadership to students by giving everyone the opportunity to assume leadership roles.

Good teachers can ‘transfer classes’ and have flexible free time. This teacher will evaluate your teaching throughout the course and find new ways to present the material to ensure that all students understand the key concepts.

A great teacher often works with his peers. Such teachers do not think they are weak to seek advice or help, they see cooperation as a way to learn from their professional counterparts. A great teacher sees constructive criticism and suggestions as an opportunity for educators to grow.

And finally, a great teacher maintains professionalism in all aspects, from personal appearance to organizational skills and daily grooming. His communication skills are exemplary, whether it’s talking to an administrator, one of his students, or peers. This great teacher is respected with a professional attitude, and everyone around him is obvious to everyone.

While teaching seems to be a natural gift for some people, others must work overtime to achieve outstanding teacher status. However, for such a teacher and his students, the rewards are enormous.
