For this assessment you will be required to write an essay that:
Analyses a market-based solution to environmental problems (REDD and REDD+, carbon offsetting, biodiversity offsetting, etc) and how it works in practice.
Uses the concepts and themes of the module to analyse and evaluate whether this market-based solution hinders or furthers pathways to sustainability, how and why.
Remember key themes: effectiveness and justice, knowledge production, role of state and governance, alternatives, amongst others.

I mean those markets created to solve environmental issues, such as biodiversity offsetting, carbon offsetting, REDD, REDD+, blue carbon, fishing quotas, etc. * I don’t mean environmental policies in general or other issues where markets are involved.
What do you mean by knowledge production?
