I have included the course instructions along with the 2 previous assignments that are to be interrelated for this ppt presentation. I am not sure how many slides will suffice for this assignment.
Overview
Your work on your problem of practice is coming together nicely, and your peers have been asking you about it when they see you in the hall and the lunchroom. They’ve asked you to share what you’ve found so you all can decide how to move forward.
You started in Week 4 by doing some initial research on a problem of practice in your educational setting, including some possible solutions, and in Week 7 you examined it—or chose another—through the lenses of ethics, diversity, and civil discourse. In this week’s assignment, you’ll create a presentation you could share in your setting to inform your colleagues of your problem of practice and how it can be addressed in that setting.
Instructions
You’ll need to synthesize what you found in your earlier assignments, and you’ll need to provide recommendations. But in order to be persuasive, you also want to bring your colleagues along on the journey you’ve taken. You’ll reflect on how you arrived at the recommendations, and you’ll demonstrate systems thinking by honestly identifying assumptions and where there’s room to grow for you and your environment.
In your presentation:
Synthesize the key questions of diversity, equity, and inclusion related to your problem of practice.
Synthesize the key ethical issues related to your problem of practice.
Describe civil discourse within the context of your given problem of practice, using examples.
Describe your initial underlying assumptions related to your problem of practice and how they changed as a result of your research, analysis, and reflection.
Recommend how to proceed in the investigation of the problem of practice based on a discussion of ethics, diversity, and civil discourse.
Identify opportunities for you individually and your educational community to grow in order to support the recommendations.
Before you begin your presentation, examine the grading criteria in the rubric.
Presentation Requirements
The final product for this assignment will be a presentation in a media format that allows you to provide a voiceover. Use Kaltura, which is embedded in this course, PowerPoint, or similar tools. You might consider what presentation format is commonly used in your setting and use it for this assignment.
Model civil discourse and scholarly voice in your presentation.
Keep the presentation brief, with five minutes viewing time. This helps you be concise and makes it accessible to your colleagues who, like you, are limited in time. It should be a starting place for questions and discussions with you recognized as a leader in this area.
Include a minimum of five different scholarly, peer-reviewed journals related to your field of specialization.
Presentation Content
Your presentation will be based on assignments you wrote in Weeks 4 and 7 as summarized below. Use the feedback you received and reflection you have done to make changes to present your current understanding of the problem of practice.
With a 5 minute limit, you obviously cannot include everything from these papers. Synthesize the most important points of each section of those papers to create the presentation. Remember, your audience is your colleagues. What do they need to know to understand and respond?
Title slide/insert, Image etc., Name of the problem of practice and the setting. (Use a pseudonym for the setting and individuals in this presentation and throughout the program.)
Overview of problem of practice: Begin your presentation with an overview of the problem of practice you are investigating. Define the problem within the setting. Discuss the impact the problem of practice is having on an educational need in this setting. (Keep the name of the setting and any individuals anonymous in this and all papers you write in the program.)
Synthesis of diversity related to (name of problem of practice): Define diversity as it relates to the setting and problem of practice you are discussing. Provide detailed descriiptions and examples of how the problem of practice you chose to review relates to diversity of stakeholders, perspectives, and opinions in your setting. How would diverse populations be affected or not affected within your setting by the actions you’re proposing?
Synthesis of ethical behavior related to (name of problem of practice): Define ethics as it relates to the setting and problem of practice you are discussing. Provide detailed descriiptions and examples of how the problem of practice you chose to review relates to ethical behavior. What are the ethical implications of taking action to address the problem of practice or of not acting?
Synthesis of civil discourse related to (name of problem of practice): Define civil discourse. Is civil discourse the common framework of discussion and decision making in your setting? If not, how could you promote that through your project? How will you make sure yours is a collaborative effort where all will be involved?
Critical thinking related to (name of problem of practice): Identify the assumptions you initially made and saw being made related to your problem of practice. How did your assumptions change or deepen as you explored the problem? Describe the journey. How will your recommendations reflect that change?
Recommendations: Make recommendations for how to proceed in the investigation of the problem of practice based on your research, analysis, and reflection. Make this a call to action to your colleagues.
Critical Reflection: In what areas do you need to grow to help support these recommendations? What are the opportunities for growth in your educational environment that you see needing to be addressed in order for the recommendations to succeed?
