Read the following from The Norton Anthology of American Literature, Shorter Edi

Read the following from The Norton Anthology of American Literature, Shorter Edition, Vol. 1:
Frederick Douglass (996-1069)
Harriet Jacobs (878-899).
Videos:
The 27-minute documentary “Slavery and Freedom”
The 54-minute documentary Seeds of Destruction.
Instructions:
Consider the rhetorical style of Douglas’ Narrative and Harriet Jacobs’ Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl as works of abolitionist literature. In a two-page response using evidence from these texts and material from our week’s documentaries, consider why either Douglass or Jacobs would be more convincing for the cause of abolition. What elements move you most from a particular author and why? Consider the purpose of their writing and what details they choose to emphasis that differs from one another. Remember to use evidence to explain your answer and to utilize MLA in-text citations. Works cited entries are not needed.
