I would like to have an example of China media situation and how they are dealing with media content in the sense of they have their own social media platforms, their own communication application which are unavailable for other countries, also I want state how its difficult to use banned applications to communicate as they need to use VPNs. Moreover, compare it with another country like United State and how it’s more open to media platforms.Additionally I want to have a part that discuss how media in China could be misinformation about what is really happening because they are trying to be closed from the other world countries, on comparison to US channels like CNN and how they try to convert people thoughts in the sense of what they believe that suits their ideology.
As part of the course requirement, students are required to submit a 10-page, single-spaced mock
research proposal. The assignment is designed to encourage students to formulate research
questions and hypotheses and determine methodological tools in writing research papers that
addresses complex questions or problems in international relations and to apply key analytical
and methodological tools in qualitative and quantitative methodologies covered in the course.
As a prerequisite for Graduation Project, the layout of this assignment closely follows
the format of the actual proposal that is to be submitted for the Graduation Project but is a
lengthier version of it with a substantive written component (i.e. literature review) embedded in
the mock proposal.
NOTE: The topic for the assignment has to be relevant to a major subfield in the study of International Relations
Word Limit: 5,000 words (10 pages, single-spaced); Times New Roman, font size 12 – The title
page and references page are excluded from word count and page numbers.
STRUCTURE:
Title: The title page should include the name, Student ID, institutional affiliation and date of
submission
Introduction & Research Questions (~1 page):
A brief introduction paragraph(s) should precede the research questions. Introduce the topic,
provide an overview and/or historical context and synopsis. Students should clearly state a
concise thesis statement in the last few sentences of the introduction paragraph.
Research Questions: Include two main research questions linked to the topic. The questions
should be worded in a neutral tone and the scope of the research questions should neither be too
broad or too narrow.
Methodology (2-3 pages): There are two components to this section. In the first section, the
methodology sections should discuss the methodologies, i.e. guiding principles (i.e. qualitative,
quantitative, or mixed methodologies) for research.
The second component of this section should discuss the chosen research design. Please justify
the selection of the research design and elaborate on relevant concepts and applications of
research tool(s).
Literature Review (6-7 pages): The literature review section should summarize, synthesize,
analyze, and evaluate relevant academic sources on the chosen topic and should be clustered into
major themes. There should be a separate introduction and conclusion for the literature review.
References: The proposal should conclude with a separate references page, it should be as APA style.
