You are responsible to watch one of the assigned films and provide an analysis and critique of the ethical perspective presented in the movie. You must choose one of the following movies to view for your essay:

Bella (2006),
Jurassic Park (1993),
Rendition (2007),
Food, Inc. (2008),
Million Dollar Baby (2005),
Moon (2010),
Zero Dark Thirty (2012),
The Lorax (2012),
The Business of Being Born (2008). This film has some graphic content (live births, etc).
Blackfish (2013)
Les Misérables (2012)
One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961)
101 Dalmatians (1996)

The structure of your essay must include the following four components:

1.) Explain the ethical dilemma thoroughly.
2.) Explain what approach to the dilemma is presented in the film.
3.) Explain the values at play in the story. For example, is this an example of a Kantian ethic, utilitarianism, etc.?
4.) Explain your own approach, providing support for your argument. Argue both sides of the dilemma before making your own argument. Work through different ethical models presented in the textbook. Conclude your analysis with your evaluation, critique, and opinion of how the dilemma presented in the movie should be handled ethically.

You must cite at least 3 sources besides the film. You can use your textbook as a source.

The paper is to be 2-3 double-spaced pages in length. It cannot be any shorter than 2 pages or any longer than 3 pages. Because this is a short essay, the quality should be of a very high standard. Remember that it is a philosophical essay and must be written with substantive and clear language without any “fluff” or unnecessary words.
