Project overview
As more people use Wi-Fi, it has become a universal requirement to have stronger Wi-Fi signals that cover a larger area to allow users to have more freedom at the complexes (Bornstein, 2015). This is important at residential and business complexes where individuals move from one locating to another and reliant on their personal Wi-Fi signal to remain connected. The project proposes the installation of a universal Wi-Fi tower to provide connectivity within a radius of 1 kilometer (Norman, 2008).
Purpose of this Project
The purpose of this project is to explore the best strategy for installing a universal Wi-Fi connectivity to upgrade the radius covered and increase general coverage. To achieve the upgrade, the proposed Wi-Fi Tower will be erected at a universal point on the apartment complex where it will distribute the signal equally over a 1kilometer radius of the complex (Walberg, Case, Durham, & Torres, 2009). In addition, it will explore the structure capabilities and complete idea of the Wi-Fi tower project to improve the universal Wi-Fi connectivity over the radius of 1 kilometer.
Scope of this Project
The Wi-Fi cost for the customer is already fixed for each apartment per month. The project intends to increase the area of connectivity for customers from a few meters to a 1-kilometer radius from the centralized Wi-Fi tower. With an increased coverage radius, the residents will spend less money on their internet connection since the universal Wi-Fi connectivity will be used in the phones and other gadgets within the apartment and outside the apartment, as long as the residents are within the one-kilometer radius.
Milestones of this Project
This project on completion will pass all its apparatuses because the established milestones of this project are summarized below:
- Detailed presentation of equipment pricing, the best location for the tower, and density of access point area.
- Proper approval of design and installation by the local authority to accomplish all the attributes of coverage radius, speed, and design aesthetic beauty.
- Detailed study on compatibility, subscription cost, contract, and security mechanization for the project.
The approach adopted for this Project
- The project manager is responsible for all the project management of the universal Wi-Fi connectivity project.
- All the documents are maintained by the manager of this project who is a general contractor.
- The progression of the project is accounted for with weekly progress (Norman, 2008).
Managing Change Variations
The encountered variations during the actual establishment of the project will be handled by the project management team through consultative meetings on a weekly basis.
Managing Communications
The below mentioned are the common communications that will be encountered depending on the choice of the residents:
- The talks between the residents and the contractor will be carried out through contact telephone number of the office, e-mail, or voice-mails.
- Residents will get up-to-date progresses of the project based on each progress issue.
Managing Resources
The resource management will be handled by the project manager through the managing plan that includes every type of material that is used in the construction, details of the materials, and their sources (Walberg et al., 2009).
Managing Late Completion
Problems related to the late completion of the project will be handled by the project manager through projective communication with the clients (Norman, 2008).
Outcomes related to a project and quality goals
The main objective of quality goals is to maintain speed, coverage, and uniformity in connectivity within the 21-kilometer radius.
Project schedule
The whole project schedule will be managed by the project manager through the work breakdown structure as well as project network and work packages.
