The beauty industry is a fast-growing sector that provides services and products to multiple customers. In 2020, its spending was $483 billion, and it is expected to reach $716 billion in 2025 (Licata, 2021). These high figures denote that a rising number of people buy cosmetics to take care of their beauty, and I am sure that many of my listeners do the same. I operate a skincare business and regularly interact with its customers. That is why I am sufficiently credible to analyze the cultural diversity of this customer base, and I will inform you that the discussed features are aligned with overall industry trends.

Firstly, I have noticed that men started drawing more attention to their skincare. Cosmetics companies acknowledge this fact and offer products that represent mens line (Marchessou & Spagnuolo, 2021). This fact denotes that the customer base includes versatile individuals, and it is challenging to define it unanimously. However, it is evident that all these customers can be characterized by diversity, and gender is a primary feature.

Secondly, it is reasonable to emphasize that the modern customer base is racially diverse. An increasing number of people from minority groups want to receive specialized skincare products. That is why cosmetics brands typically advocate for inclusivity, and modern companies offer 40 different shades of foundation for individuals of different ethnicities (Licata, 2021). Furthermore, this fact is true because customers want to achieve an authentic, personal, and inclusive image (Danziger, 2019). This finding suggests that the customer base represents different cultures, habits, and dress patterns.

Even though the selected group of people is diverse, it is possible to expect that they follow similar eating habits. Since my business offers products that help against eczema, acne, and dry skin, customers are advised to follow a healthy diet. Thus, individuals of different genders and ethnicities refer to healthy eating habits to improve the state of their skin and achieve the desired beauty standards.

In conclusion, the customers of my skincare business represent a diverse group in terms of gender and ethnicity. According to various experts, this cultural diversity is aligned with the trends found in the cosmetics industry. However, the heterogeneous nature is not overwhelming, and a shared feature refers to eating habits because these customers typically rely on healthy and balanced diets to address their skin issues.
