The TED talk set up by Brencher (2012) was organized rather logically, as the speaker went on from establishing the background for her speech to unraveling the argument of how it was important to care about the ones whom we may not even know personally. The speakers willingness to get the point across was supported by the fact that she did not throw every piece of evidence at the audience but rather chose to tell a story of how the so-called love letters had changed her life and the lives of many other people around her. The main points of the speech do not stand out, as they are relatively covert. Brencher (2012) sets up the emotional basis for her speech and appeals to the audience by baring her soul and not stating something shocking or inappropriate. Therefore, how the speech was organized and the lack of evident anchors allowed the speaker to get her point across and not get too rigid.
Another factor that has to be pointed out when analyzing Brenchers (2012) TED performance is her vocal delivery. Instead of being either emotionless or overly expressive, she finds the golden rule and connects to the audience on a personal level when she uses her voice to show the listeners that this topic is essential for her and she is living it through on a daily basis. Even if it was not intentional, it served well for the core purpose of the communication. Speaking of Brenchers (2012) body and facial qualities, it may be safe to say that emotions from telling her story to the audience overwhelm her and she tries to limit any kind of motion in order not to spoil the performance. It is not clear whether Brencher is an experienced speaker or not from the given clip, but the overall quality of delivery is decent, as she manages to stay on topic throughout the presentation.
