and/or class references, for a Grand Total of 8. These are evaluated at 3.125% each footnote.
 60% for Argument / Thesis: Must show an accurate understanding of the text.
 Spelling, Grammar, Format, or further reductions: -1 to -5 points typically, sometimes up to –
10 or possibly more, for errors. Generally, typos will deduct 1-point, poor expression 2 points,
and very poor grammar -5 or -10 points for a paragraph.
 Maximum Length: Short papers will receive a Max Length grade. A paper on 90% of the
required length (1080 words) will never score higher than 90%, for example
