Introduction
Thua Thien Hue is one of the five provinces in the Pacific Ocean that borders Quang Tri, Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Laos it is located on the central coast of Vietnam, and Hue City is its capital. The city is 660 kilometers from Hanoi and 1080 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. The province is located in the tropical monsoon climate, whereby it experiences dry and hot weather in summer and cold and wet in winter. The provinces topography has also been divided into three major geographical areas: the western region, the hilly and lowland midland area, and the coastal area.
Climate
Bad weather has also impacted the regions various activities. Thua Thien Hue comprises mountainous areas, lagoons, hills, and plains. Consequently, floods and landslides are experienced in some areas due to high rainfalls (Long & De Smedt, 2019). Temperatures in Vietnam have increased by about 0.50.7 °C since the 1960s, which can affect learners (Vo et al., 2021). The floods have also affected scholars since it becomes difficult for them to travel to schools. About 70 percent of the countrys total population lives along with the coastal areas and islands (Long & De Smedt, 2019). Furthermore, in some cases, students are forced to relocate to safer areas. Therefore, the bad weather negatively impacts education in Hue, and can many learners may prefer to join schools in other regions such as Da Nang, Quang Tri, and Laos.
Immigration
Immigration is also experienced in Thua Thien Hue due to various aspects. For instance, some people move to urban areas in search of jobs. Many individuals have relocated to multiple areas such as Da Nang, Quang Tri, and Laos due to various issues such as education, band weather, and occupations. Moreover, natural elements such as floods and landslides have forced people to relocate to different regions. People have also lost their lives in the province due to mudslides (Pham et al., 2019). Thus, these natural calamities have led to many people avoiding joining schools in Hue and relocating to other areas.
Population density is also high in urban regions than in rural areas. Large land area in the region is also used for agriculture purposes, whereby livestock and crop farming are exercised (Pham et al., 2019). Human resources have also been involved in the development of Hue since healthcare centers, schools, and community development programs have been introduced in various regions. The approach has led to the development of the education sector, attracting learners from other provinces such as Laos.
Culture
Respect for the masters is another aspect that has been encouraged in Vietnam. This approach has been urged to limit conflicts experienced in the community involving the seniors and superiors. Respecting the masters is also encouraged in learning institutions in Vietnam, which is also essential as it ensures that people live ethically. The culture has attracted many parents in the region, motivating them to send their children to Hues Schools.
Society
The people of Thua Thien Hue have primarily focused on education and have ensured that children attend schools. Strict measures have also been enacted to ensure that parents do not encourage children to engage in child labor. Thua Thien Hue has also developed its economy to ensure that it matches the nearby Da Nang and Laos areas. The education sector has been improved, whereby many people have graduated from various universities. Therefore, many people are likely to join schools in Hue due to the enhanced society that supports education.
Religious beliefs
Religious beliefs have also been significant in the region. Monks are found in this region, whereby they educate many people about their faith. Benedictine Monks in Vietnams Thua Thien Hue are also known for their monastery areas where they perform their rituals (Kerkvliet, 2018). Hue is the ancient capital of Thua Thien Hue, and many individuals in the region have learned about the regions history and cultural practices from the elders and the Monks. These religious beliefs are also experienced in neighboring areas such as Da Nang and Laos. Moreover, they have positively impacted the education sector since the principles involve focusing on discipline in society, including in learning institutions.
Academic Tradition and Fondness for Learning
Traditional academic is another factor that individuals can analyze when focusing on Thua Thien Hue province. The region has primarily invested in education, and the department of traditional medicine was established in the area. Moreover, in 2010, Hue University decided to launch the Faculty of Traditional Medicine based on an upgrade from the previous Department (Phuong et al., 2018). The strategy has led to many students joining the university and acquiring skills that have enabled them to develop the health sector of Vietnam. Moreover, many people have joined schools in different areas, including the neighboring Da Nang and Quang Tri. The traditional academics involved undergraduate and graduate training programs, research and publication, and international cooperation.
Historical Medical Background
The medical background can also be analyzed to show how it impacts the education sector. Many people in Thua Thien Hue have focused on the importance of healthcare as it affects various activities in the community. The region has developed the health sector, which has attracted many learners. Like neighboring areas such as Laos and Da Nang, Hue has increased the number of health care facilities. For instance, Hue University offers medical courses such as nursing and pharmacy. Nguyen Dynasty was also a significant issue experienced in Vietnam and was dominated by the powerful Nguyen family. Various regions such as Da Nang, Hue, and Tonkin were impacted by the Nguyen Dynasty, whereby the French colonies ruled in these areas. Therefore, the various historical issues can be analyzed to show how they affected Hue and its education sector.
Tourism
Thua Thien Hue has primarily built its economy around tourism since many people from various regions travel to Thua Thien Hue. For instance, the complex of Hue monuments is one of the major attractions in the area (Doucin, 2021). According to Thua Thien Hue Tourism Department, the total number of tourists arriving in Hue in the first four months of 2019 is 1.730 thousand, which is a year-on-year increase of 9,2% (Thua Thien Hue Portal, 2019). Revenues acquired from tourism have also been used to improve the education sector. Neighboring areas such as Da Nang and Laos have also focused on tourism to grow and develop society. Moreover, many students are attracted by these sites, which encouraged them to join learning institutions in Hue.
Education Infrastructure
Many schools in Hue have been expanded to guarantee that more students can be enrolled. Kindergartens have also been built in various regions to ensure that young children can join learning institutions early. Quoc Hoc high school has also been expanded to ensure more students are enrolled. The Hai Ba Trung high school has also introduced the art of cooking to girls. Hue University is one of the major institutions that have been developed to ensure that learners from various regions can acquire knowledge in the institution (Mai et al., 2018). Graduation rates have also increased in many colleges and universities due to increased graduate and undergraduate programs. Merging schools with the same majors to form multidisciplinary reforms has also been encouraged in Vietnam to ensure that resources are effectively allocated. Two-level universities would turn into single units, and the whole university will have only common training programs. Also, three universities are offering 54 study programs in Da Nang (Free Apply, 2021).
Thus, education has largely been improved in Hue province, leading to an increased number of people with different careers in the community.
Technology Infrastructure
Technology has also become one of the essential aspects of todays world. Therefore, Investment capital in education has also helped the government to improve the education sector in Hue, Da Nang, and Los. Technology infrastructure has been enhanced, whereby students are also engaging in online classes. Moreover, advanced machines are being used in many schools to ensure that learners adapt to modern technology. For instance, students in healthcare courses are being introduced to modern equipment used in hospitals to treat various conditions. Therefore, technology has primarily been used to develop the education sector in Hue and other provinces in Vietnam.
