Mental Health Problems
All three components: body, soul, and society, are closely related to each other and affect a persons well-being and condition. The ability to cope with stress, anxiety, and bad moods reduces the likelihood of psychosomatic diseases based on psychological causes. However, there are more and more cases of psychological disorders among adolescents, and points of child suicide are not uncommon. Consequently, the projects relevance is due to the growth of diseases that require special attention.
Overview of the Project
Many mental disorders are neurotic and anxiety, character pathology, behavioral, affective, and psychosomatic disorders. Each of us encounters negative periods of stress and grief, but the symptoms of a mental illness last much longer and are often unrelated to reactions to daily events. When these symptoms build up enough to interfere with a persons normal functioning, it becomes a mental health problem. It is worth noting that this is particularly relevant for young people due to increased involvement in stressful situations and the need to move on to new phases of life: school, college, and university.
Project Planning
During the planning phase, the goal was to determine the necessity of the project itself and organize the order in which it would be implemented. In addition, the group searched for a location where the project could be implemented and selected the sampling criteria for the research group. Theoretical reviews that defined the projects boundaries were also found and selected. The University Librarys online portal and the jstor, Web of Science, Google Books, researchgate, and other databases were used as a reliable base.
Research Base
The Chicago Center operates as one of the most successful and promising facilities that provide care for children to enhance their quality of life. Each type of therapy (medication, individual, educational, group, and family) allows children to address their mental illness and integrate into society. The center operates 24 hours a day and has online support, allowing its clients to seek help (AMITA, 2022). Specialists at the center deal with behavior, autism, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety. PTSD, OCD, and postpartum depression services are also available.
Targeted Disorders
Signs and Treatment
Anxiety
Anxiety manifests itself in a whole group of conditions called pathological anxiety states. Causes are emotional distress of various kinds; family atmosphere; post-traumatic stress; conflict. Making a specific diagnosis will be the identified signs of the disorder and the patients complaints. It is vital to establish accurately that the somatic symptoms are not a manifestation of hidden diseases of internal organs. A person should streamline his regimen to prevent anxiety disorders: get enough sleep and be outdoors more often. Exercise helps with coping with anxiety: there is a release of adrenaline during training, and the patient rarely has minor concerns.
Depression, Suicidal Thoughts
Upon admission to an inpatient program, children will meet with a team of professionals, including a therapist, psychiatrist, nurse, and mental health professionals, who will work collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their needs. Depression in children manifests itself in different ways, depending on the childs age and the causes of the illness. For example, children under the age of three may suffer from depression due to damage to the central nervous system. The disease develops due to damage to the brain cells from serious illnesses affecting the nervous system, a burdened heredity.
Other Mental Illnesses
Many mental illnesses affect children and change their behavior, which prevents them from feeling a part of society. The most effective is the individual approach, in which two professionals work with the child to support them in their social integration and the treatment of their illness. In this way, the child can receive comprehensive assistance and gradually get rid of the disease or reduce its manifestations. Timely application for help and diagnostic measures at an early age will not aggravate the condition and develop tactics to prevent its images.
Stigmatization of Mental Illness
There are disabling ones among mental illnesses, but even that fact is not a reason or reason to define a person, their thoughts, actions, and life in general through illness. Do not be afraid of people with mental disorders: they are no more dangerous than others. An effective way to communicate is to have a normal conversation that helps you find out how the person is feeling and how their illness is manifesting itself. Any questions should only be asked if the teenager agrees.
Prevention of Mental Disorders
Mental health and physical health are significant components of ones general well-being, and it is essential to maintain stability. The degree of social fulfillment directly affects mental health. Adapting under challenging conditions and adequately responding to stressful situations indicates a persons solid mental health (Colizzi et al., 2020). Prevention should be directed both at preventing diseases (and in this case, it is worth talking about school counseling) and at maintaining remission (testing and non-psychotherapeutic measures).
Outcomes
After the implementation, it is expected that adolescents and young students will seek help from school psychologists and medical staff more often. The project has shown that the state should provide substantial support to increase satisfaction indices and develop healthy self-esteem in young people. The noted results prove the necessity of transitioning to other ways of struggling against stress and completely removing tolerance to every external stimulus: multifactor stress management would be most effective.
