Outreach Chicago is an agency providing homeless people, veterans, and individuals in need with various necessities to improve their quality of life. The company issues food packages, personal hygiene items, clothing, and school supplies (Outreach Chicago, 2022). The major goal of the proposed research was to assess the general satisfaction level of the company’s clients and to identify the items people find useful and unnecessary. The strongest side of qualitative research is the possibility of realizing an in-depth analysis, comprehending customers’ needs, and receiving feedback from them. One of the weak sides of the qualitative study is the subjectiveness of the data gathered from humans. The interview method relies on people’s opinions, and their answers rely on their current moods, emotions, and feelings.

While gaining information from the research, one can implement Grounded theory to make more general conclusions and statements. In other words, the Grounded theory uses an inductive way of thinking and allows to make a proposing theory on a way to better understand and help the targeted population (Adler & Clark, 2015). For instance, if most of the family members are female and they prioritize hygiene products in their list of necessities, it is essential for the company to provide more hygiene products to the female groups.

In qualitative research, there should be a point when gathered information becomes repetitive and provides no additional knowledge. This point of data collection is called theoretical saturation, and it indicates the sample size that further prolongation of the study is meaningless. Whilst providing the interview lines, it is essential to include thin and thick descriptions. The latter represents contextual details, each participant’s intentions, motives, and meanings standing behind the words (Shaffer, 2018). The words themselves reporting on an act are thin descriptions that allow understanding the sense of the participant’s speech. Both descriptions are necessary for information transmission and are used widely in qualitative studies.
