Introduction
The concept underlying the analyzed material is based on the application of creative factors in activist activities. Improving society is the goal of such social activists, and many burn out in the process of achieving it (Tavanier, 2019). To avoid this situation, the use of playful and entertaining activities to raise awareness, motivate action, and awaken empathy in society for human rights is suggested. Variety in activities will make the work of activists more engaging, increasing their effectiveness and reducing the possibility of burnout. That said, Tavanier (2019) provides examples of such initiatives and notes the communist past as an ineffective, boring, and dangerous legacy that carries a threat to society if repeated. However, one cannot ignore the main limitation of the play-tivism strategy – many may not take such actions seriously, which would diminish the strategy’s impact.
Leadership Perspective on Culture
Another strategy that can influence social change is the dynamism of culture. According to the author, culture is constantly changing, even in a monocultural society, which is quite messy (Curran, 2017). A cultural mindset represents the mental framework of interpretation and understanding of the world around any person. That said, there are two types of a cultural mindset that come from bad or good attitudes respectively (Curran, 2017). In this case, the factor of social change depends largely on leaders, their understanding of cultural differences, and their ability to perceive dynamic changes in the culture. Undoubtedly, this fact greatly influences the success of change (Krause & Miller, 2020). However, leaders do not always have goals that contribute to the development of society and may purposefully ignore cultural differences, which is a limitation of this idea.
Strategic Summary
The two methods discussed have much in common, with the potential to affect societal change and the effectiveness of human interaction. Among these are the desire to unite people and respect human rights. However, there are no less noticeable common limitations, which can be expressed in the lack of universality of the methods and the complexity of their implementation. A multicultural society responds differently to creativity and leadership, which can complicate attempts to conform to the variations proposed by the authors. Despite this, the theories and their pinpoint application are quite effective and worthy of respect and further development.
