Euphorbia plant is a succulent plant which is found in the Sahara desert in North Africa, it has several adaptive features which enable it to survive the dry climate of North Africa which is characterized by long dry spells. Their features are in that they can enable the plant to store and retain within its structure for long time. They have hollowed and spongy and thick stem which are evergreen to store water and act as the site for photosynthesis in the plant. The stem is also coated with wax prevent water loss from the plant (McLeod, 2005)

The plant has fibrous roots which are close to the ground to enable quick absorption of water after the rain fall and absorb the dew from the plant. In the place of the leaves the plant has thorns which are used to protect the plant from its predators and help in conserving water for the plant as it does not lose water in any way. The Euphorbia plant does not reproduce from the flower but instead it develops from the areola or by cutting the parent plant and planting it in another place (McLeod, 2005).
