Athenahealth envisions an institution with a strong foundation and the ability to offer support services to physicians across the country and beyond (Adler-Milstein and Robert, 351).
Objectives of Athenahealth
Athenahealth seeks to provide high quality, state of the art electronic health record software to hospitals in the country. It also endeavors to enhance the management and leadership abilities of physicians and healthcare professionals through quality training opportunities. Issues facing Athenahealth

The inability of hospitals to upgrade their information technology systems limits the company’s entry into new markets.
