This presentation delves into critical concepts in nursing practice, including leadership and cooperation, and how ineffective governance strategies, such as controlling people reduce inclusive engagements.
Identification of the Leadership Concept
Managers in nursing must possess adequate skills to be effective in their governance. These leaders must set good examples for their staff by showcasing evidence-based practice, poise under pressure, optimism, and high intelligence. All these qualities align with transformational leadership, which focuses on mentorship by setting standards (Jankelová & Joniaková, 2021). However, some issues can affect the efficacy of a leadership strategy, including a controlling attitude adopted by leaders who appreciate the managing approach. This style is whereby the leader controls a group to achieve an objective (Buljac-Samardzic et al., 2020). This type of leadership attracts rebellion and reduces collaboration considering that the team must follow specific guidelines without fail. Poor communication from a disconnected leadership system could result in irrational decision-making since there is no room for peer consultation. The unreliable system of governance derails processes by increasing conflicts, reducing motivation, and poor satisfaction, which results in low productivity.

For instance, an effective leader must show excellence in decision-making, excellent communication, and organizational justice to show their leadership competency.
Trends supporting collaboration include promoting team-building initiatives and reducing interpersonal conflicts. For instance, organizing retreats can be a strategy to enhance cohesion and help employees resolve their disputes. This practice helps strengthen unity and promote collaboration due to reduced interpersonal conflicts (Buljac-Samardzic et al., 2020). Another initiative is inspiring creativity and innovation by supporting new ideas and rationales given by employees. Leaders must consider insights provided by the employees concerning organizational processes and make the necessary amends to promote cohesion (Buljac-Samardzic et al., 2020). When employees’ views are considered, collaboration and effective engagement motivate them to work towards the organizational goals. Additionally, aligning the team with the organizational goals, missions, and objectives helps steer cohesive engagement (Buljac-Samardzic et al., 2020). For instance, when employees realize the company’s objectives, they become aligned with processes that sponsor growth, which drives effective collaboration. This organizational behavior is integral in promoting team engagement and understanding.
Ways to Advance Communication-Related to Leadership and Collaboration
Three strategies to advance workplace communication include active listening, establishing rapport to avoid misinterpretation of gestures, and avoiding assumptions. To practice active listening, one must pay close attention to the speaker, process what they are saying, consider how to reply, and remember what was said. This consideration helps avoid misinterpretation of information which can result in conflicts. Another strategy is establishing rapport by building work relationships to develop trust (Jankelová & Joniaková, 2021). Showing concern for employee welfare is one strategy that enables people to form lasting relationships that promote effective communication. People who hold opposing beliefs withdraw from engaging with one another, making leadership difficult and collaboration impossible.

These two concepts are also important since they promote better clinical judgment considering that they promote evidence-based decision-making. Similarly, collaboration enables teams to engage in in-depth discussions and processes, enhancing organizational processes. All these concepts rely on effective communication strategies to enhance viability.
