The evening news programs on TV at NBC or ABC are similar to what is broadcasted on CNN or FOX news. All the stations have the same agenda in covering the evening news, which is to inform the public of the current unfolding events. At times, there is a slight difference in the broadcast of news due to the emphasis given to some events or occurrences and the speed with which they take to show current happenings (Zuckerman, 5).
I have not detected bias on how events are presented in the stations listed above, but I noticed that the credibility of the presenters heavily relies on their objectiveness and impassiveness that is portrayed in the level of sincerity when they choose their subjects of discussion and how they present. According to (Watkins, 85), the type and style in which some news items are presented make it attracted to people of certain age groups.
For instance, news concerning lifestyle and sporting would be very popular with people below the ages of forty. Production of news can be summarized to contain three processes; negotiating, interpretation, and giving meaning to the complex world in a manner likely to be understood by everybody. Depending on the person who is presenting the news, each news item is bound to display a specified identity and quality. All the stations give the same time for news coverage and no bias to some news items but it all depends on the presenters and manner in which they relay information to the listeners.
