Social networks play a unique role in modern society, but with positive contributions, negative impacts on young people like high expectations from life and immature minds become recognizable. Although individuals get a unique way to self-express themselves and stay in touch with family and friends, social networks can have critical negative influences that contribute to the formation of improbable expectations and problems with self-perception and communication. One of the consequences of social media is the inability to combine available resources, norms, and beliefs with personal goals and needs. For example, platforms like Instagram or Twitter can influence the formation of ideas among young people that they must necessarily achieve wealth and success at an early age. Such images can cause internal pressure among young people and contribute not to motivation but to the development of depression and anxiety because not everyone has the opportunities and resources to succeed as quickly as others (Anderson & Jiang, 2018). In addition, laying out only the ideal lifestyles and body image can develop in the immature mind of young people such problems as body dysmorphia and other issues related to self-perception problems. Social networks lack an effective system for regulating communications occurring in them, which some perceive as permission to mock other people. It is hard to control all the effects of social media and predict the formation of adverse effects on young people. Unrealistic and poorly managed dreams, the inability to solve problems of pressure, bullying, violation of self-perception, and poor critical thinking skills make it necessary to rebuild social network functions and implement regulatory policies. Moreover, changing the public’s view of this part of their lives is critically important, which implies introducing accurate content into social networks.
