Step 1: Determine Where You Are
My healthcare organization is a leading provider of quality services to its patients. The increasing number of calls remains a major at the organization. Teams are essential towards proving quality health services. Teams can identify problems and find solutions to them (Sullivan, 2013). The team members motivate one another in order to achieve the targeted goals.
Teams “make decision-making processes smooth and effective” (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007, p. 64). The approach creates a competitive workforce. The members of the team handle every issue affecting different patients. My organization is unable to answer these phone calls due to lack teamwork.
Step 2: Identify What Is Important
The most important thing is to have teams that can identify challenges and address them. Teams will provide the best services to their patients and clients. Every leader should mentor, motivate, and encourage his or her team members (Lombardi & Schermerhorn, 2007). I will also borrow new ideas from different industries. For example, the military and aviation industries portray the best features of teamwork.
The people in a team support one another (Sullivan, 2013). The members also portray the best interactional, communication, and decision-making skills. As well, pilots and co-pilots usually work as a team in order to achieve their goals. This is also the same case in the auto-racing industry. My strategic plan will focus on these practices in order to make the organization successful.
Step 3: Define What to Achieve
Managers and leaders can use this step to identify their goals and expectations. According to Parsons and Cornett (2011, p. 279), “every leader should improve the level of performance in his or her organization”. I will always empower, mentor, and motivate my nurses in order to achieve the targeted goals.
The first strategy is for the organization to create new teams. Every team will have its leader and coordinator. I will use the allocated funds to develop the best teams and empower my employees. I will also use evidence-based practices and theories to empower my teams (Sullivan, 2013). The strategy will provide the best healthcare support to the targeted patients.
Step 4: Determine Who Is Accountable
The strategic plan will succeed if every person is accountable. I will coordinate the proposed change in order to make the healthcare organization successful. I will appoint new leaders to analyze the progress of each team. I will also recruit a coordinator to ensure the new change is successful. I will also encourage my employee to communicate effectively with one another (Sullivan, 2013).
Step 5: Review
I will use the review process to examine the strengths and challenges affecting my strategic plan. I will employ various organizational processes in order to solve the problems facing the institution.
I will also use new organizational processes such as teamwork, leadership, and proper management. I will also use strategic management to monitor the progress of the proposed strategy (Parsons & Cornett, 2011). These organizational processes will make every individual accountable.
