The Medical University of South Carolina Master Facilities Plan

The MUSC-2020 strategic plan presupposes, first and foremost, the divestment of some buildings and the reinvestment of others. The MUSC-2020 strategic plan consists of five main goals. The first goal is the commitment to patients first. Clinical management, research, and teaching will be seamless, team-oriented, and provide effective care.

The second goal is the advancement of new scientific discoveries and integrating them with health promotion, health care, and learning. The third goal is to use differences between people that will allow them to understand each other and work more productively. The fourth goal is to foster learning and innovative education. The fifth goal is to build healthy communities. The estimated budget for this plan is $60 million by 2020 (Facilities Master Plan: In Conjunction with Imagine MUSC 2020 Strategic Plan, 4).

City of Centennial Fiber Master Plan

Currently, Centennial’s fiber network enables communications that support public works departments and the city’s IT facilities. In general, the Centennial fiber strategic plan presupposes the expansion and development of fiber infrastructure in the city that provides access to innovative services for Centennial’s community institutions, businesses, and residents. Additionally, these goals include maintaining the long-term viability, enabling the private sector to provide services, and discovering new approaches. The estimated budget for the plan is $5.7 million by 2019 (City of Centennial Fiber Master Plan: Executive Summary, 7).

Castle Rock Water Resources Strategic Master Plan

Castle Rock’s water strategic plan is based on its previous plan in 2010 but with some amendments. Thus, this plan consists of eight main goals, the estimated budget of which is $317 million by 2050:

  • Reach 75% renewable and 25% non-renewable water supply by 2050.
  • Reduce water consumption from 118 to 100 gallons per capita per day by 2050.
  • Develop the town’s renewable water rights.
  • Utilize all reusable water.
  • Import additional supplies and reduce prices for customers by working with other entities.
  • Develop the reservoir storage program to optimize the distribution of supplies.
  • Protect and develop the Denver Basin groundwater supply.
  • Work within the 2015 financial plan (Castle Rock Water Resources Strategic Master Plan, 8).

Effectiveness

The described above action items of the strategic plans of three different organizations meet the core elements, described in the lecture notes, needed for their successful implementation, namely, they answer the main questions of what, who, how, and when. They also describe the financial aspect of the realization of the given plans.
