What organization (and what part of this organization) did you develop this plan for?
The organization diagnosis plan was developed for the sports organization that consisted of the High School athletic department this emerged as a result of the incompetence that was being observed and the total lack of morale by the athletes. For this, I wanted to diagnose why the team had poor performances on some certain occasions and good on different occasions. I managed to employ the conceptual models and applied research methods to evaluate the state of the athletics department situation in order to discover the problems associated with the lack of performance. This diagnosis also focused on the aspects of meeting the challenges and investigating the organization’s current state (Andras 2004).
Purpose
This also focused on the reasons why the athletes had lost the moral in effective participation in the various sports activities that were on season. In order for this problem to be countered various measure and issues had to be addressed to clearly satisfy the concerned parties within the high school athletic department. The purpose of the organization entails the activities that are carried out in the sports organization. In this sports organization, the athletic high school department has athletes that are involved in the various competitions thought the whole country.
Few of them are actually involved in the junior championship world title rankings and have been performing expectedly high. the rest of the athlete are involved in the high school competitions that are usually held to determine the best schools that perform effectively in the co-curricula activities within the state., the high school athletic department is also involved in community work. This enables them to provide relevant services to the community. Through this the department is able to raise some money to attract the overall returns in its effective management. The goal of the department is to embrace a high standard of discipline to all the people around and to tackle challenges that arise.
Structure
The structure of the high school athletic department is organized in such a way that every athlete is determined based on the competition or specialties that one tackles for example the athlete are considered to be long distance and sort relay running athletes. Each of these groups is headed by the team leaders and the captain.These are the athletes that are able to organize the effective programs of activities that ought to be performed by the athletes (Murray 1993).
The athletes are organizing according to the areas that they are well qualified for maximum and effective productivity since if they tackle various activities at a time they will perform poorly. It is however highly evident that within the department not all will follow the chain of command and especially the athletes who consider themselves as being in a high potential to achieve medals as compared to the team leaders.
When there is great focus on understanding within the structural differences within the department focus by all the athletes will not be on their individual differences but their abilities to perform (Hernes& Bakken 2003).
Relationships
The relationship between the management of the team and the athlete is rather tens since the overall expectation in the performance during most competition is usually high. This in return makes every athlete concentrate and strain during the exercise and in return making the students develop distant ties with the managers. to perfect this the management has to create an effective program that is specifically fit for the athletes of various categories rather than making them all practice in the same way.
Within the athletes themselves, the spirit of competition is usually high and this results to conflicts since when one is defeated in the area of specificity by the teammate conflict arises. This however is sought through team spirit and the urge that all the competition being performed is for the benefit of the entire team (Charlton 2004).
Rewards
The department only experiences rewards on the eve of an event an act that is currently reducing the morale of the team in the participation on the schools activities.the department of school athletic is also focused in the distribution of material gains without focusing on the way forward of the other athletes who are not participating well on the events. These athletes have also to be encouraged through rewards in order to make them feel as part of the team (Andras 2004).
This is however supposed not to be so since through frequent rewards, the team will be able to have an urge to participate fully knowing that at the end of the event no matter how the performance is they still will be rewarded. This rewards should not only be focused on the monetary terms or progression from one leadership class to the other but on a sense of equality that will be beneficial to the whole team.
Leadership
The department has two effective leaders who understand the need of the athletes and usually try to monitor the moves of at least all of them. They provide relevant services that the entire student body has started realizing some changes. The areas that are failed by the two leaders entail the solution to the conflicts that encounter the team. The inability to clearly clarify an issue on the basis of the happenings also is another problem that faces the leaders. In general leadership requires a large understanding of the immediate surrounding such that all the fields that seem to be very difficult are tackled first with ease.
The leaders have also to try and listen to the sides of what their teams have in order to know the loopholes that exist other than making sole decisions that are not clearly embraced by the entire team. The team leaders on their part should not complain on the overall success or leadership position but should focus greatly in the attainment of the team’s goals.
Helpful mechanisms
The mechanisms existing within the department have not been revised for a long time and this has been a contributor on the lack of attendances and seriousness of the members. They usually consider the meeting as a place of non constructive work since no alternation is usually followed. And the meetings are usually merged with frequent violence from the participating team members. The management has to try as much as possible to coordinate the allocation of funds and all the other relevant activities that enable the cooperation within the team. Planning has to be effectively employed to coordinate all the activities that are to be done effectively (Charlton 2004).
Control and measurements are two factors that go hand in hand in determining the overall performance activity of an organization. The high school athletic department has a well effective budget all year round that gives an assurance of quality services delivery to all its members.
From the relationships I will need to come up with the way the organization responds to the overall world so that the cohesiveness is not only maintained within the group. Having a strong bond with the community reduces boredom I will needed to collect the information based on the experience of the students, athletes and also carry out a health analysis to determine whether the impact of some disease that the high school students contributes to the dismal performance that has been observed. In conducting an adequate needs assessment of the department, the aspect of urgency has to be taken into consideration this is so because the time limit would have been set and the additional time put in will have a negative feedback especially for the ,management. To tackle this, the right information has to be sought and the optimal resource as considered by the organization. I managed to learn that the organization process has to entail effective management and that there should always be total cooperation between two conflicting parties within the setup. In doing an organization analysis’ i managed to get a glimpse on the various methods employed in order to tackle specific organizational challenges that may end up collapsing the organization. I also gained effective skill in the management of disputes that might arise within the organization. And hence I gained the relevant skill and languages used within the department that are suitable in the facilitation of effective communication in enhancing a rapport with other colleges.
