Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have become increasingly important aspects of the corporate world. Companies increasingly recognize the importance of creating and maintaining an environment where diverse populations can thrive. This discussion paper will examine the DEI plans of two technology giants: Apple and Microsoft. I will compare the two plans and discuss how to improve them. Both companies are working to create a more diverse and inclusive organization but are taking different approaches.
Let us start with Apple. The company has implemented a diversity and inclusion team program to help its employees and entrepreneurs achieve greater self-realization. They have also developed a program for providing integrity and inclusion for small businesses managed by members of minorities. In addition, the company has implemented a program for long-term planning for recruiting and retaining diverse personnel.
In contrast, the managers at Microsoft have implemented a diversity and inclusion development program to improve minorities’ access to the labor market and provide them with more equal opportunities. They have also started a program for recruiting and training minorities to promote a more inclusive culture in the organization (Mousa et al., 2020). In addition, they offer a program for the development of skills and support for diversity and inclusion for all company employees.
Apple has the best DEI plans. They have a developed program for inclusion and diversity for all participants in the labor market (Mousa et al., 2020). They have implemented a program for equality and attracting minorities and offer a program to support long-term planning for diversity and inclusion. This makes their plans more specific and applicable.
Both companies are doing enough to encourage DEI practices among their employees. Each company has different programs and approaches to promote diversity, equity, and inclusiveness. However, I would recommend that they strengthen their efforts to attract and retain minorities, as this will help them achieve a more diverse and inclusive culture (Mousa et al., 2020). It would also be helpful to develop programs to support and train employees to attract and support more diverse employees.
In conclusion, both Apple and Microsoft have put great effort into creating and maintaining an environment that is welcoming and supportive of diverse populations. While both plans can be considered successful, there are some areas where both companies could improve. By engaging and empowering their employees and creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and respected, Apple and Microsoft could further promote DEI.
