In the modern world, considering the development of globalization, the idea of an ideal leader has changed compared to the past. Thus, today the leader should have subtle knowledge about different cultures because one needs to work with people from all over the world. Therefore, it is essential to identify the most effective leadership styles and how they relate to different dimensions of culture.

Culture is a complex term with many different meanings depending on the context. Culture is usually defined as a set of shared beliefs, traditions, traits of character, moods, political attitudes, etc (Northouse, 2018). Ethnocentrism is a problematic aspect of cultural management because it brings out its own traditions at first glance. It prevents leaders from fully understanding and appreciating other cultures and therefore contributes to a decrease in work efficiency.

Moreover, there is such a group of views as prejudice, which, like ethnocentrism, interferes with effective work. Cultural prejudice is looking at other cultures through the prism of unfounded beliefs that distort the real picture. Thus, one can distinguish two dimensions of culture and attitudes that leaders should avoid. Moreover, the most effective traits of leaders were identified, which include charisma, caring, and team orientation (Northouse, 2018). In addition, the leader should demonstrate humanism, activity, and justice, which will contribute to the most effective work of the team.

Finally, the researchers singled out the most positive portrait of the leader and the most negative one. Thus, a positive leader’s image includes such traits as courage, sociability, sincerity, caring, and willingness to demonstrate support. In turn, the most negative portratit of a leader includes selfishness, antisociality, anger, envy, and disrespect. In addition, autocracy, which is the opposite of democracy, has been singled out as the worst form of governance, contributing to the destruction of relationships with the team.
